Small grow tent off eBay - need advice

I'm thinking about purchasing this:

and maybe this light to go with it:

Would the light be too powerful for such a setup?

Any tips on what else I need for my first attempt at growing would be much appreciated, there's a bunch of stuff here: http://stores.ebay.com.au/melbournehydro

Hello welcome aboard friend. I don't think the light would be too powerful. I also think that that light is a rip off. I got an apollo 600 watt with ballest from Amazon. I also got a free metal halide and hps bulb with that entire purchased deal online. All that for less then 180.00. The tent seems fair.

600 watt one would cost me about the same:

But would it be overkill for such a small tent?

250 is enough for the tent; still, use a fan for ventilation of course

Yea dont get that light. I got my 400 watt for 117. The light is overpriced. And no the light wouldnt be too strong as long as you keep it air cooled.

guy if u are going small

may i say make it your self .....get some mylar some tact glue and some Silver metal duct tape go to town ..........the size u want even if u mess up building it u still have the supplies to build 2 more

i can link u to utube video that will show u how to wire the computer fans to a 12 volt plug for a outlet ..............this way u get the size and shape u want

After more reading and thinking I've decided for now that purchasing something like this: http://glandorehydro.com/Grow-Tent-All-you-need.html might be the easiest way to get it all going pronto. I'll be going with a slightly smaller tent 80 x 80 x 180 and using a run to waste system.

I don't care about making it as cheap as possible, otherwise I would DIY at least some of it. My main thing is to getting it going asap and to have it take up not much more space than a cupboard type setup.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

P.S. I'm inclined to go with a 400w light... or should I grab the 600?

400 is good for the space

you might be able to pull off the 600 with a cooltube, but a 400w with a cool tube should kick ass in that tent and temps should stay down.
