Small time growing

Hi. I have a question about growing a plant or two, instead of some of the huge grow rooms I see.

Is it practical to grow a plant or two in the same conditions of any other house plant. For example, would I be able to grow it next to the potted (not actual pot ) plants in my bathroom?

Smell and someone else seeing it is not an issue in this case.

I don't really want to go with grow lights and all that stuff, I'd rather keep it low key and small scale for personal use. Obviously using distilled water, etc would be monitored, but modifying entire rooms of my house is not something I want to do.

A t-12 set up is cheap and works.

I have this set up I use from time to time.



They can grow into it for a few hours to a day they stay cool.

My set up is (4) 24" T-12's 20 watts each at 6500k it's a light blanket.

I also have some 2600ish k's (don't use but may add to my hps room for some side lights).
These thing may be old school but you can not f--- it up.

Considerations:

Light: at least 500 lumens is suggested, but around 1000 is optumal. Check the amount for your location. Be sure to manipulate the hours of sunlight and daylight is they do not match up. Now is a good time of year to plant.

Temperature: Be sure the room is a different temp because plants need hotter environments than most houses. Around 78-80% F is optimal

Humidity: between 50-55% during veg growth and 45-50% during flowering.

Nutrients: Distilled water is good because is reduces harmful elements but it also reduces helpful ones, such as calcium. I suggest using tap water and allowing it to sit out open for 24 for the chlorine to evaporate and then water with that. Provide nitrogen as well!

The only concern you should have is the amount of yield you will obtain. You get what you pay for and simple sunlight is nice but usually not enough.
