'Smartest' way to grow autoflowering plants?
Does anybody have insight on what they think is the smartest way to grow autoflowering plants? I know they stay short and compact, but i'm confused as to how I can utilize light most efficiently. Do you prefer 400, 600, or 1000 watt HPS? I think it would be best to start them in a rockwool cube, but after ten days just stick them in some soft soil, adding nutrients only for a week or so atleast 10 days prior to harvest. Is that correct?

I usually just buy my weed and I only like the good stuff. Do these little guys really produce the quality I get when I buy 400/oz buds?

How much do you think I could yield from 1 light?

Thanks so much for any help. I'm somewhat a newb. + rep for anyone that helps.

I grow them in an Aerogarden using LED's and supplemental CFL's. I usually grow them out of curiosity.

Grow them the same as you would any other strain. The only different is you don't need to switch to 12/12 to trigger flowering. The quality of the bud itself has a lot to with genetics, but also has a lot to do with the skill of the grower. A great grower can produce buds that are worth $400/oz (this also depends a lot on your location. What goes for 400/oz in my neck of the woods probably goes for 200-250/oz in Cali). There have been autoflower yields on this forum that come in over 2oz+ dry. There are also yields that come in under 14 grams. Again this is dependent on grower and genetics.

If you can afford to run 1000w lamps, then you might as well run them. More light is better as long as you can control your environment.

Good luck and don't forget to start a grow journal.

Cheers
