The tent didn't break, the strap did. I use small chains to hold stuff up if needed. Don't use those straps for heavy stuffOh shit, is that a Gorilla grow tent? I'm kind of paranoid that mine is going to break now
Yes. First time I've seen one break but also don't have alot of them. Going forward will not be using the provided straps.Oh shit, is that a Gorilla grow tent? I'm kind of paranoid that mine is going to break now
Yes. It is not the tents fault the strap broke. It is cheap plastic buckle that broke. The tent didn't break, the strap did. I use small chains to hold stuff up if needed. Don't use those straps for heavy stuff
Well it could’ve been worse and caused a electrical fire. Thank god it’s only plants that were broke.Straps holding the fan and filter broke without provocation.
Gonna have to rethink hanging stuff above plants with the straps provided by tent manufacturer. View attachment 5196150View attachment 5196151
You always do look at the bright side, such a positive member. LOLWell it could’ve been worse and caused a electrical fire. Thank god it’s only plants that were broke.
Not a bad idea. Definitely going to keep that in mind when I set up the next grow.Hope you can save as much as possible, that sucks for sure. I've had one fail on me before but I had 550 Paracord tied to it as a safety line and it was hanging inches above my plants when I opened up the tent. I tie everything up with that stuff as a backup in case of a ratchet strap failure or I drop it while adjusting something.
Nah, it's just not something you think of normally until you have an accident. Hopefully some painter's tape and supports will save most of the branches that got broken. I don't use a filter anymore so I just have the light to worry about but it's 45"x45" in a 4x4 tent so if it fell everything is getting mashed. It's good you posted about it, I bet a lot of people will be checking their supports out after reading this thread and you probably will save someone else the problem. Too often we all just want to post our best pics of frosty buds, threads like this do a lot of good.Should have e used a safety but was being complacent
I was just going through stuff today and found some of my straps. I tested The "good" set and it snapped with only like 8 or 10 pounds of force. I'm so glad I didn't use them. They surely would have given out with the weight of the filter and vibrations and stuff. Hopefully the stuff you had to harvest early turns out alright.
