for thin layer chromatography, as well as cannalytics procedure on a different test, and I end up with smeared bands. If you look at the attached picture you'll see what I mean. I'm experimenting with ultrasonic extraction using a sonicator. Presently I sonicate frozen from fresh hemp into hemp oil, for 20 minutes. I then press the resultant solution. On the left is just the plant matter left after sonication, on the right is the solution. I'm using silica test strips backed with aluminum.

Any information is appreciated.

Too high of concentration on the TLC plate is my guess. Shouldn't be an issue if you can make out the components. Try to get the dots a little smaller too.
