Smell Control in Small Operation

Good Day everyone,

I just registered today after reading these furoms for several weeks now. You guys and gals are awsome!

I have a challenge;

I have a box made out of mahagony plywood and 2" X 2" boards. A design I got from Youtube. The box is 3' wide X 5' long X 7' high. (Total cubic feet is 105) The box has a roof and floor, its is painted white on the inside for reflextion and we used caulking to seal all the seems to try and keep in smell. Then I have my closet that is 3' X 3' X 7' ( Total cubic feet is 63 ) that is also painted white.

My master plan is to practice "Sea of Green". I just read the book for the first time two weeks ago! I am using the 105 cubic foot box for vegging. I'm planning on having 2 or 3 mother trees, cut clones every three weeks or so. After two weeks after cuting them the clones will have rooted and I will then put them into the other closet of 63 cubic feet for flowering. I estimate that I will have 15-20, 12-18" flowering marijuana plants in the smaller closet at any given time. Two 250 watt MHs in the vegging box and two 150 watts in the flowering closet.

So far so good. I have a plan. I need help now with this. How do I control the smell?

After reading alot online, I have learned about Activated Carbon Filters. I know about CAN 2600 to CAN 150 carbon filters. My concern is which ones do I use.

If I have a CAN 33 combo activated carbon filter with a true cfm of 178 in the vegging box, of 105 cubic feet, will it be enough to remove all odor?

If I use a CAN 33 combo activated carbon filter with a true cfm of 178 in the flowering room, of 63 cubic feet, will it be enough to remove all odor? I have read over and over that flowering marijuana smells a whole lot more than when its just vegging.

I plan or using air polishing with the closets. Were you don't run any duct or vent the odorifurus air anywhere else. The technique is were you just hang the fan and attached carbon filter and let the air in the closet get recycled as it passes through the fan and filter over and over.

I am thinking of getting a Uvonair 5000 UV ozonator for the bedroom its self where the two closets, both veg and flowering will be in. Its a 18' x 18' x 12' room. Do I absolutely need the Uvonair 5000 for backup or will the two CAN 33 combos in each closet be good enough?

Thank you in advance :) :)

ok u are talking about takening the carbon filter and hanging in the grow room and just have a fan inside the filter ............and then a ehust comming out into your room and using a ozone gen to cover that

you let it run inside the grow room. I'll have the door closed to the closet. They say that it works well.

i know what u are talking about i know of a good one on ebay refillable

ok first off a small ozone in the exhust line is your best bet to kill that extract ....but that big one for whole room (it is a look at me sign) the only place that should smell that much of ozone is a hospital or a bio chemical lab .......so right now that is a huge break in his door

your best bet is to actually hook the filter to the exhust ............for your fan u figure 1/3 of the CFM is reduced do to the sucking tho filter aslone as u keep that number higher then the air going in (yes u need a inflow other then just negivtive pressure) your air will be clean and not noticeable .......if u have to get a ozone too get a y split for the ducting one side it the line the other is turned down u take a lid off a coffee can (use to work) or some tubberware thing make it seal on the other part of the Y junction ...cut a hole in that and then feed the Ozone line into that and seal it off it will go tho carbon then the ozone will get anything else u will be low amount so the smell will not carry far u can vent it outside ........get a peice of wood drill a 4 in or 6 in hole put on a screen and then get one of the union things from homepeot for ducting and u have it on that to ppl outside it looks and smells like portable ac

now add ducting on the back side of it and vent it away from the room

alls u are doing like that is removing the smell but recyling the heat and the stale CO2/O in the room

u have to get rid of the air once u scrub it ....there is no function for it after that point ......it is hot and the C02 that could be used has been

the low lvl intake for cool air and the highest amount of Co2 u can get with out a set up ( co2 is a heavier then air so in the room it is at the lowest point along with coolest air so works out

They say when air polishing you would just need to have passive air intakes. Like have 2 6" hole at the bottom of the room and that should be enough

no i just did alot of resreaching on methods and ways to keep the state cop next door from noticing what i am doing ...............i am not in a state where they openly welcome it just yet ..........

u need the ducting man to get rid of the air .....if u are recyling back in u need a method of making your own Co2.........the only stable method is the getting a tank or a burner.............the buckets/bags/distilling only work so long and then fizz out

if u want u can air poish on your intake ............use a carbon or mushroom air filter on your intake ( they sell cheap replacement ducting pads too ) even inline carbon/ozone filters for inline
