Smell during flowering with carbon filter

Hey guys, I have 3 plants on day 43 of flowering and they are smelling very strong even though I have a carbon filter, is it normal?

Btw, I grow in a cabinet in a closed room with no new air.

Yup. For me it starts at week 6. I haven't looked into a better can filter but it's normal.

imo don't waste your money, I tried in the past (much larger room) running multiple can filter scrubbers,(can 100's) you just can't win.. its going to be smelly. Use a filter if you want to exhaust it, that seems to work for a little while keeping the exhausted air from not smelling so badly.

I have the same grow setup and don't have any smell issues, 6 inch vortex fan is not even on all the way and no smell. Make sure you don't have any leaks before the filter.

Best advice i can give ya is to get a couple of those air fresheners that hang on the wall and have a timer on them. They go off intermittently to whatever you set them to, 8/15/30 min intervals. Compressed gas and battery operated. That way depending on how much fresh power you need, you can set it to the stink killing power you need. I believe ona makes a version they have in grow stores usually. Just dont put them in the grow, put them outside where people would be smelling it.
Also ya might want to look into an ozone generator.

a gallon of ona gel, used conservatively, lasts a long time. And/or Ozone Generator on exhaust.

With a phresh carbon filter and ecoplus fan, I didn't ever get smell if the cab was sealed.

Pack the plants up very carefully and bring them to my house.

Check you humidity levels charcoal will not work every good with hight humidity. Also check that you have more air going out then coming in to create a vaccum so no smells creep out. What size filter and fan do you have? Also if you can always go for the next size up filter or overkill.

The cabinet has to have negative pressure. A good passive intake and a filtered exhaust. If it does not flow right you will get positive pressure and the smell will be pushed out of the cabinet rather than suck through the filter and exhaust out carbon scrubbed properly.

Phresh filter has been able to scrub almost all odors from my grow. The cheapo brand from amazon before was not as good at scrubbing
