Smell Help *No Rush*

Ight, my mom knows i smoke and she doesnt care but growing on the other hand shes against immensally.
Im growing in my closet and have good ventalation, and air flow and all that. I started a few days ago so i dont hav to worry bout it for a few weeks
I was just wondering wat kinds of things you guys use to cover up the smell.
I was told to get a papertowel/toletpaper roll and ruberband one end with dryer sheets and tape it to a hole in my grow box. I waz also told that putting a electric air freshaner outside my closet would work too.

Any advise???

I don't think that will work very well, unless i'm mistaken dryer sheets need to be heated to work effectively. A few things you might try is to get a small bathroom ionic breeze or something similar. There was one video i've seen where the dude used the Vaportronic from this website. It has little discs that you set in it. You'll probly have to look around the net for where to buy em.

I personally am building a carbon filtering system with a box, some fans, and some filters similar to these

it's her home. give me -rep when the cops kick in his moms door because he feels the need to DISRESPECT his MOTHER. oh it's just a plant in the closet. then why even bother? is she going to be pissed WHEN she finds it? then why would you do it? just because you are growing pot doesn't give you the RIGHT to be an outlaw.

Google a do-it-yourself carbon scrubber. I got all I needed at Home Depot and ordered the activated carbon on E-Bay.

Carbon scrubbers are the shit.

Sm2ke420, I had this saved in my favs, I'll share it here with you, its cheap and easy.

You will need:
1. A five gallon bucket
2. A "muffin" fan, or a round fan of some sort that has the motor built into the compact frame of the fan.
3. A drill
4. A one pound container of Soil Moist, which is a water absorbing crystal. You can find it at almost all nurseries and grow shops.
5. ONA, or Odor Neutralizing Agent. YOu can get it at most grow shops or "baby" shops for new mommies.
6. A 5 gallong bucket lid, which may be optional.

Step 1
Get yourself a muffin fan, or a Durex brand or Holmes brand circular fan with base. They are very common at Wal-Mart and can usually be bought for less than $8 US. The reason you should get this brand of fan is because after you have removed the base, it fits perfectly into a five gallon bucket.

Step 2.
Using a flat screwdrive, pry of the nubs on the base and remove the screws.

Step 3.
Remove the fan from the base. Keep all the parts in case you might want the fan again someday.

Step 4.
Place the fan into the five gallon bucket, frontside up. If you bought the holmes brand fan it will fit VERY snugly. You don't even have to secure it in place.
(If it is smaller than the opening, then cut a hole, smaller than the diameter of the fan, into the bucket lid. Use some floral wire and secure the fan to the lid so that you can place the lid onto the bucket.)

Step 5.
Drill about 8 or 10 holes around the bucket.

Step 6.
Remove the fan/lid and put about 9 cups of water into the bucket. Then put about 1 cup of the ONA into the bucket and mix it up. Be careful, it can smell pretty strong at first.

Step 7.
Put about a cup or two of the soil moist into the bucket. Make sure that all of the liqued is absorbed. You don't have to use alot! The crystals expand to about 50 times their size.

Step 8.
Set the fan on the lowest setting and put it back on the bucket. Plug it in and put it somewhere in the corner of your grow room. I don't actually have mine in the closet itself...
You will notice a difference in about 5 minutes!

The great thing is that the Soil Moist is re-useable. Once it dries out, mix up some more water/ona and pour it right in.

You may need to tweak it for your own grow room, but that's the basic design. Thanks!

No offense but your a fucking moron. One Im 18 so if i get caught she wont (or not as much), Two its 2 plants i highly doubt the cops are gonna come crashing in. HA, and its not lik shell get that mad ( to the point of tears or anythin) shell just b pissed for that day then make me get rid. (so ill start again)

well then don't say she is against immensally. if it is no big deal why the need to hide it? you came off like you where bragging. why the part about your mom to begin with? so as long as you don't make her cry i guess it's cool.

ok. sorry i'm high now (fuckin headaches). what i did was let my mother - in - law know in a round - about - way that i was growing in her backyard. she wasn't that happy, maybe just a little nervous. then i harvested and dropped her a little "kick-back". that was the day i got the OK to buy my light. hehehe. make something in it for her. if you get caught go "well, here you can at least try some". or just pay her off.

Hey I went to Wal-Mart last night and was looking to get an air purifier. I came across a Febreeze activated carbon fan thing for $14. It plugs into a wall outlet. I put it right next to my exhaust of my grow box. I don't have much issues for smell right now, so it is hard to tell if it works good. 1 1/2 week of 12/12 so far... The activated carbon is supposed to last a month or so.

They also have a big sheet of activated carbon for bigger air purifiers for like $10. You can cut up a piece the size of the old one and replace with that.

I was also thinking about putting it INSIDE my grow box once I get a little more room in there. But I am not sure if i am going to do that yet.

Well, let's see ...

If I had a son and he knew I was against his growing pot in my house and he did it anyway? ... I would personally rip the plant up, then tell my son that beginning at the first of the month, his rent would be $300 a month. If he didn't like that arrangement, I'd tell him to get his own place by the first of the month. But then, I've been on the planet a lot longer than 50 years, so what do I know?
