There is no comparing the odor control a carbon filter provides, if you are using a carbon filter and there is still odor your doing something wrong. You have air leaks, you filter is old, something. Please examine your setup and help us find the problem. Dont give up and go with a ghetto solution.

Precisely, when it comes to ventilation and odour control no compromises should be made.

The problem here is that the fan is just blowing air around the growspace and recirculating and probably creating some positive pressure instead of extracting it and creating negative pressure, so smelly dank air is escaping and leaking out of the closet and stinking out the house.
