Smell issues

So my grow is in a closet in a room, which I sleep in, I don't smell anything inside the room but when I'm in the living room which is right outside of the room I get a whiff of burnt leather or smoked leather. I only smoke in my room never in the living room, lets say I light a bong in my room and use a smoke buddy is that enough for the smell to linger in the living room? Is this from the grow or me smoking?

I just try to be discreet and realize that if I'm growing or burning it, my house will smell to a degree. I try to keep things clean and smelling like wax, oils, plug ins, sprays, candles and whatever else I come across. It's definitely to a minimum and mostly people don't seem to notice or at least don't say anything.
I don't however burn incense or anything that smokes. I feel like the added smoke makes the house just hold a burnt smell, scent makes no difference.
Other than that I just let it the freak go. It's not going to benefit me to trip out over it.

The smell doesn’t matter,
until it matters.
If your not allowed or it’s illegal,
Cover your tracks while you can.
Your clothes will carry the smell as well, so even away from home you could get singled out for stinking like a hippy.lol

A carbon filter is a great addition to any grow.
If the obvious smell sticking to you really doesn’t matter to you at all then don’t sweat it.
“You do you” ;as they say.

You can't grow without a carbon filter, it will definitely smell eventually. Smoking weed also smells A LOT.
Well you can if you don't care about being stealthy. I know several people that don't use a carbon filter but it's legal to grow here so they don't care. Their house smells like weed when you go inside. You can also smell it a little outside if they have a window or door open.

I use one because I don't want people knowing my business not because I have to.

I’m not that good at some smells. Grew a strain that one person called earthy and another said sandalwood. I thought it smelled like crap whatever it was. Sold the last ounce and a half for $225 and was glad to see it go.
I am the same way with strains. Some of the descriptions as far as smell and taste are usually as inaccurate as the descriptions of wines claiming of subtle hints of plum and blackberry with a distinct oak finish, blah blah blah. I find that I taste and smell things others don't and vice versa.

Honestly doesn't matter if you push or pull. I always push into the filter because my grow spaces are so small that I can't fit the filter and fan in them. You can also have a fan and filter just sitting inside the grow area not connected to the exhaust at all to scrub smells.

Get a quieter fan , there are lots.

Filter In tent and vent out your house.
Or get a stronger fan and filter both ends if your not venting out the house

Agreed. I can't really pick up on the "weed" smell anymore. To used to it I guess. When I pop a jar I get a good whiff but that is about it.

Even with a carbon filter I get smell coming through near the end of flower, it stresses me out since my partner doesn't like the smell, she likes to use it though haha

Right now my grow is stinking my basement out with a carbon filter running

How old is your filter?
They gradually lose effectiveness over time

You could stand in my growroom, next to my tents, and never know I was growing.
