my plants are flowering and look great but the buds dont smell, am i being impatient or have i done something wrong ??

I have found that the temp in your grow area effects smell. The warmer it is, the more the plant stinks. Some strains don't smell as bad as others do either.

thanks stranger, i am using a 600w grow light and use a fan interitently to stop the room getting too hot but it is still very warm, the acual bud smells like an ordinary plant i just hope thats because its too early they are about 3 -4 weeks into flowering , i am growing in soil and have checked the ph and it has been ok thrughout....any advice would be very welcome

Could be the strain, could also be just early. I have a few strains that just don't smell that strong the first couple of weeks, but really start to smell. Some people use additives like pineapple rush or banana manna or sweet and say there is an increase in fruity smell, i have never used them, but you could do some research on them.

That's way too early to be worried about your buds not smelling.

They should start to reek about 3/4 of the way through the flowering period.

You should however give them as close to optimal flowering conditions as you can. Lots of air flow, 75 degress, 45% rh, etc.
