Well this will be my third grow so far and my first grow journal. I will be growing in a closet divided into a flowering chamber and a veg chamber. The flowering chamber is on the bottom measuring 3'4"L x 2'10"D x 4'6"H. The vegetative chamber is right above and measures 3'4"L x 2'D x 1'5"H. Above this i have a shelf which holds the ballast and some other equipment. Now for some specifics about the grow.
Genetics: Hindu Kush (10pk)
Veg chamber lighting: 2 65w 6500k cfl's w/ reflectors 7500 lumens each ($8.50 at costco)
Flower chamber lighting: 400w hps, digital lumatek ballast, hydrofarm daystar 6" ac hood (50,000 lumens)
Ventilation: 306 cfm Active air 6" inline fan, pulling air from flower chamber through ac hood and up into the attic
Circulation: 4"w x 12"h oscillating 3 speed tower fan, PC fan in veg chamber
Nutrients: Fox Farm Big Bloom, molasses, and possibly some free Organicare supplements
Grow Medium: 3 parts Fox Farm Ocean Forest 1 part 50/50 vermiculite/pumice mix
Container sizes: 5"x5"x5" pots for vegging, 2 gallon growbags for flowering
Now to explain the grow,
My goal is to harvest 5 or 6 plants every 4 weeks, in other words i will be putting around 5 plants into the flower room every 4 weeks. I will not be keeping mothers so I will be taking a clone or two off of each plant right before i put them in the flower chamber. This will provide the next batch of plants as well as help to keep the plants shorter, and I will be pruning the lower 1/3 of the plants anyways. I want to have between 8 and 16 plants in the flower chamber at all times. I will be performing some experiments throughout the year. The first of which will be using just organic big bloom on half the plants in the first generation and using big bloom and molasses on the other half. I will be judging the results of the experiment on yield per plant, Density of buds, and visual appeal of the bud.
I will post with some pictures of the setup soon since I have not yet begun to germinate the seeds (waiting on my mmj recc), i am hoping to get this done by the end of the week. The Construction is 90% done I have to make a light barrier between veg and flower chamber as well as cut a hole to vent into the attic.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, constructive criticism, or general comments you guys have. And I'd also be happy to answer any questions or clarify anything you may not understand.
