Snow White & Red Dragon

Oh and I don't remember what node i topped at.... I didn't do it too early though :)
Oh wow that looks different than the one I saw. Maybe you topped it a little too late? The guy I saw topped them at the 4th node and said over and over again that they loved being topped. His plants had like 4 main colas, that's what want. If you want to check out his grow go here. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/258968-my-first-grow-diary-snow.html

I have 4 more SW seeds so I'll probably top this one and learn from it. If it turns out bad I can't say you didn't warn me hahaha.
Thanks again for the suggestion though, I appreciate any advice.
And good luck with the rest of your grow it looks like your gonna yield quite bit off that bubblegum. You using cfl's throughout the whole thing? Mad props if you are those are some fat buds for 5 weeks. :)

His plants look awesome! Maybe I topped at the wrong place...or maybe its just a different phenotype of the snow white....who knows?? :) Go for it... see what happens... :)

I actually switched to a 400w HPS a couple of weeks ago... I moved all my CFL's into a dresser grow box for veg ;) I just started 1 bubblegum 1 chrystal and 3 of those mystery seeds nirvana gives you :D Good Luck! Your babies are lookin good :)

I just started up some of the nirvana freebies myself lol. Wonder what kind they are. I planted 5 of them some had watermelon lookin stripes and some were just plain green.

Okay so tomorrow will be the end of my babies' first week so I want to do a quick update. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.

The Snow White was showing obvious signs of PH problems. I guess this is very common using rockwool, and I should have done a better job of flushing it out before I used it. And also, I found out that the water I was using had "taste enhancing" minerals in it. I just read reverse osmosis and thought it was good, but nope. I'm pretty sure it didn't like that.

Anyways I replaced that water with some regular R/O water PH'd to about 5.8 and flushed the rockwool out as good as I could. The rockwool has little drainage slits so the flushing worked out okay but left the rockwool a little heavy so hopefully it isn't over-watered. I think it will be alright though...

On to the Red Dragon, that things doing GREAT compared to the Snow White. Not showing any bad signs that I know of. I've been watering it with really little amounts once a day but I'm letting it dry out a little more this time so the roots will search a little bit.

Quick question to anyone who has used party cups though, how long does it usually take for them to need to be transplanted? I'm sure it's different with different strains but a rough estimate would be nice.

Thanks for any help, it's appreciated.

Ok, so here they are at the end of week 1. About an hour and a half before their last night cycle anyways. They're tuggin along pretty nicely, would probably be going faster if I had more light. I'm sure they'll like the MH. I plan on bringing that in before the second week, just waiting on a clip on fan to have blowing between the light and the tops of the plants.

Anyways, as you can see the RD is doing a little bit better than the SW. I'm pretty sure the SW had some PH problems. See how the leaves are curling under and starting to twist. Hopefully I sorted this out by flushing with 5.5-5.8 R/O water. But it hasn't been stunted too bad, the new leaves are actually coming in faster than the RD.

The Snow White seems weaker than the RD and it's leaning one way, almost like it can't support the weight of it's own leaves.

I was wondering if it could be a tad deficient already, since the rockwool isn't like soil and has no nutrients in it(so I've heard). I'm thinking about giving it a little dose of 1/4 strength Sugar Daddy and possibly some Root 66.
The Sugar Daddy has no NPK it's 1.6% Magnesium 1.75% sulfur. It says on the bottle "During the seedling stage SugarDaddy rapidly accelerates sprout growth and prepares plants for transplanting" It also says it promotes strong plant structure throughout the vegetative cycle.

Since there is no NPK and I'd only be using 2.5ml per gallon(instead of 10ml) and there's no nutes in the rockwool, do you think this would be ok for a 1 week old seedling? I've been reading on rockwool and a lot of people say they start they're feeding at 1/4 strength as soon as the first true leaves come in, so a little bit of Sugar Daddy shouldn't hurt it right?

I don't want to burn her but I want her to be strong and healthy.

Take a look and tell me what you think.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I plan on putting the SW into the DWC system tonight when the lights turn on. That's why I was also thinking about giving her some Root 66 with the Sugar Daddy. The Root 66's NPK ratio is 1-1-1 and has .05% Iron and .05% Boron. It says on my feeding schedule to apply a mixture of the two immediately after transplanting. I would do 1/4 strength. Do you think this would burn her?

Im not sure about that rockwool or the nutes lol.. I just dont have the experience to advise ya there.. but the one in the rockwool doesnt look deficient to me, looks perhaps overwatered. Im no expert but thats what I would say if it were my plant. You can try that 1/4 str I dont think you will hurt the plant if you just give it a lil bit.

So I gave the Snow White some quarter strength Sugar Daddy and Root 66 and then put it in the DWC with fresh ph'd water. I also managed to borrow two 85 watt cfl's (350 equiv.) so they both have one of those until I put the MH in, much better than the 23 watters :-D

I'm pretty excited to see what happens in the next few days :hump:

So everythings going alright so far. The Snow White still doesn't look the best but it's not stunted, the new leaves are growing so that's a good sign. It looks like it might have got a TINY bit of burn from those nutrients but not bad at all. The first set of leaves are just ugly haha I really hope the new sets look better. I have it in the DWC bucket, but the roots still haven't come out of the 4" cube. It's been about a week since I transplanted so they've gotta be close. I can't wait til the roots are in the bucket and I don't have to worry about that stupid rockwool.

Anyways, I'll get pictures up at their 2 week mark. Then I'm planning on putting the MH in so hopefully they'll take off from there. Peace,
