So a smoking buddy of mine is thinking of going professional with his boxing career, I support him myself but hes says hes still thinking hard about it and doesn't know what to do.. I figured I'd ask some other tokers what they thought.. lol

Hes a hardcore pothead (hes the one who introduced me into toking while training) but hes a god in the ring lol most of his fights now end within the first round (3 minutes) with a TKO. Personally after sparing with him once, I think hes a monster in the ring and belongs fighting people who are a challenge to him.

Here is the catch though, hes openly gay and even has tattoos displaying such and thats what personally I think he is questioning having a pro career over (he wont talk about it with anyone, not even his trainer) he just has been saying "I'm still thinking bout it" every time.

Funniest thing is, he doesn't look like a boxer at 115lbs and is so quiet and non-aggressive you wouldn't believe hes such a monster. lol But I guess that could be expect as he said he learned to fight due to getting his ass kicked daily as a kid by other kids. I'm guessing he lets his rage loose in the ring (which makes me feel bad for the other guy lol)

I figured I'd let him know what other people think, might cheer him up to hear something positive.

If its his dream he's gotta do it- but if its just something he wants to do for a job then he'd better understand its going to entail a lot of BS that a different job wouldnt give him (discrimination, physical beatings, and harassment to name a few) but if its his dream- than those factors are easily overcome by determination.

let me know how he responds to your advice...

well talking to him, he already knows bout those and as for the beatings he laughed and said "They can try", which I agree on lol.. Reason is one match he had lasted 16 seconds.. it was shocking but apparently the dude said he was gonna beat his faggot ass and so my friend charged at the bell and swung with a feint and then gave him a nasty straight to the face which dropped that asshole like a sack of shit.

Hes just apparently more worried about dealing with more attention if his career goes far, as hes a quiet guy and doesn't like much attention.

If he were to pursue this, he could break a barrier common in professional sports. Boxing especially. Best of luck to him whatever his course.

Yeah, I know and I told him he'd kill so many stereotypes with it including putting us stoners in a positive light cause pot is part of his training.
