So dissappointed......

So, here I am, 8 weeks into flower and I decided for shits and giggles to pick a bud off my biggest healthiest plant... I let it dry for a few days and when I picked it apart today, I came across a plethora of seeds....... It was so seedy but the bud was still decent... why the hell did this happen? It was probably a half gram nug and I pulled FIVE SEEDS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this a hermaphrodite or what? I mean a few seeds isnt bad, Im stoked about that but when I harvest these plants, this one + my other 5, am I going to have seeds in every bud?

Please let me know, did I cure it wrong? Is it too late?

Unfortunately I cant get a pic up because I left my camera in LA but if you look at my journal it has relatively recent pictures...

I really really hope this isnt goin to ruin my grow

It had to get pollinated at some point, most likely a hermie. Chances are it pollinated the other plants too. Check them out, you should be able to see how seedy everything is.

I dont see how they coulda gotten polinated... I had 2 males but I took them out of the pictures so fast it doesnt seem possible...

should I pick the buds before they produce even more seeds????????

Also, re: the light leak, I really dont think that I had one... I mean there wer etimes when there would be tv light, or maybe the light from my oscillating fan, but nothing that could psosbily be stronger than "moonlight"... u know what I mean??

what should I do at this point im so bummed :(

Since they're already 8wks in to flowering and almost done all the seeds have already been produced and are fully mature or near maturity. Just finish out the grow like you were going to, the last few weeks they pack on extra weight and trichomes.

Next time make sure there are absolutely no light leaks at all as it can be a catalyst for hermies. Extra light for even a few minutes in the middle of the flowering period can inhibit the flowering hormones and stress the plant.

ya I guess you are right, I underestimated the possibility of light stress...seems like the only possibilty... could this have happened overnight or no? this morning when I woke up one of my trashbags coveren the window slipped off a little and there was a little light but I immediatly hung it back up..

also 1 last question, will these seeds be usable in my next grow? I mean, the genetics on this plant seem bomb, they are hella frosty but I would hate to keep getten hermies over and over, I just want a few good seeds...

will these seeds at least be usable

Shit that sucks!
Must of bine the light leak, I was going to say crop now so you get more bud vs seeds but yea entropic is right the seeds are already there, you might as well grow it out and get good seeds, but on the other hand you could just crop now and get some smoke out of it, and maybe a couple of good seeds hard to say. if I were you and had a mother with that strain I would crop now. Sorry this post probley didnt help at all lol

the thing is... i dont even know where the seed came from??? HOw long ago did they hermie? the alleged light leak didnt even happen to long ago... also, just cause 1 hermied, did the rest? I couldnt tell that the bud hermied before I picked it, even now, exteriorly it doesnt even look like a hermie(nobody in my journal noticed it)... this just all seems so random considering they looked so good up until this...

Does this also mean that the rest of my crop is likely hermie too? I had 6 plants all together.. This kinda changes things. If not all are hermie yet, maybe it is smartest to chop this one and the rest? what do you guys think?

No don't harvest yet. Your weed is at the point when it is making wonderful crystals in overtime! Check the coloring of your trichomes and if they are at the 50% cloudy and 50% amber - then start to flush now. Bascially, just as you've already been told by Entropic - just finish out your grow. It would be a shame to waste 6 plants by harvesting early...

I'm just saying...

yea keep growing them. Chop the one thats not a bad idea, then you can compare them.
and what you only got a week or 2 left right?

ya, 1 week for some, 2 weeks for some of the other... I was looken under the microscope and a few of them already developing amber trichs so..

I hope you chopped that hermie because I hear they produce pollen, and you should cut it with a bag over it or take it out of the room.

At this point might as well let them finish out, seeds have been made and they aren't going away. But on the bright side you have seeds for another grow.:peace:

yep, ive already come to those terms... kinda shitty but oh well. The bud is still dank and next grow around I'll have a bunch of seeds and work from there

I have the same exact problem as you. Growing 4 plants and I'm at 7th week and I discovered seeds on my nugs. Really gay because I checked all my plants for hermies and males and all the plants were producing heavy colas so when I saw some round shit on top of my nugs, i decided to ignore it but I had to accept that they were seeds later. Really gay, I guess exposing them to light during dark period is really bad then. come to think about it, I did do a fucked up job taking care of them during veg state.

If its not a light leak (which it sounds like it is) then your grow room is just not dark enough dude. Or they got stressed at some point temp fluctuation, nute/pH off, did they get moved etc, anything out of the oridnary can fuck them up fast. They need a continuous stable environment. I would grow them all the way, the bud will smoke fine and get you high, you just have to pick all the shitty seeds out, or sell it to some mug! Extra weight and all!!

I'm not flat out saying you are wrong, but I am skeptical on this whole light leaking thing. I mean come on, these are plants, and meant to be outside. It's bright as day in most areas at night time, between light pollution and moon light, is every outdoor plant a hermy? I really don't think a little light has a negative effect on plants during the dark periods.

thats what I thought. Not even a little light... Its not liek I turned the lights on my room even.. I had my COMPUTER SCREEN on, thats about it.. lol. The seeds might have just been hermie seeds to be honest :)
