is this a breeding thread or what, n im getting tierd of all the complaining also if u cant take getting burned a little bit maybe RIU s not for u go ahead go 2 grass city or something u and all the other haters, now then i have a minor question at hand, is thier any use in using hermie pollen or is it completely going 2 ruin my genetics?, ive heard of people using hermie pollen but i dont know if i should trust it or not, will it produce usefull seeds?

Hermie pollen is really only good for the plant it came from. To make fem seeds. Otherwise you are just passing on a trait of a plant that goes hermie....

if im not mistakin i thought its bad 2 pollinate itself with hermie pollen, but is thier a difference between forced hermiie pollen and a natral hermie plant pollen??, would i be better off killing them now or should i let the hermies do thier thing? i wouldnt mind silver afgani seeds haha, i have never had problemss with this clone b 4 and im running hydro, the root systems became disaterous and caused them 2 hermie all over, im thinking i could let it go get free seeds and have a nice bactch of hash material, does any one have experience with hermie pollen and growing them from seeds? how did things grow?

How much hell did they go through before they stress-hermied?

If they hermied from stress alone, I think you'd be alright with seeds from a selfed plant. But if they were in any way predisposed to hermaphrodism I would not continue the bloodline as the allele that contains the gene for hermaphrodism could easily be passed on to the offspring.

howdy, thats what i always thought , i will not be using any seeds and the ones i find i should kill right? is it possible for a hermie 2 produce a male plant? lol i dont know 2 much about the mj gentic but i know hermie is bad!! thanks for the reminder! my hydro is growing ridick u los, i messed up the root systems by using thick nutes and my res got al nasty ive been using silica blast and hygrozym and h202, my roots had brown slude on them since the first week and ive been slowly controling it, these plants went a full week with out water accidentally in a aero jet system during full flower , thats probly what started the hermie , im amazed that thier fully green and for how many bannas thier are it seems like thier just falling off and not opening any way i cannot find anyseeding besides on a stray seed plant that was in the room, do clone only strains do not except seeds???? thier begging 2 really mildew on the leaves now thier were a little over grown and i had 2 prune alot for this strain, i musta used 2 many nutes the plant is deep deep green buds are the size of 50 cent pices lol all white hairs still barley starting 2 stink bad kinda sticky im gunna have 2 pick it early also spider mites,every where!!!!! im gunna wipe them out though can any body say lucid? hahai figured i will give the room a complete spray down after i clean it and then wipe it all clean and dry, walls roof, floor ect. remember 2 keep the grow clean sorry for writeing so much every body take care especially the guy that dont know what hes talking about with those nasty drugs, bad stuff!!

you take your best phenos of your best strains, and cross them untill you get the charectoristics your looking for. word of adivce always make your best plant, and favorite plant whos charectoristics you want to shine threw more a female. then continue breeding how you see fit crossing your best males to your best females.

after learning more....take pollen from a chosen male. pollinate a whole plant or a chosen healthy branch. this branch will create different seeds with genetics from mother and father varied within each seed. sprout a handful of seeds again choose the best male and female and breed them. when selectively breeding for phenotypes such as high, flavor and color of nugs. im not quite sure how you would choose the best female being that you would have to flower her, cure the nugs then smoke them. do you take a clone of each female from seed and label accordingly? smoke all the buds from each female then choose the best clone that was taken from the best female seed?

another thing i am not sure on is when one would want to backcross back to the original mother.

i got a crazy idea if you wanted 2 cross 2 plants couldent u graft them together and then back cross the whole plant with the same plant, wouldnt the branches you graft produce hybrid seeds? but with the other plants gentics would grafting help strengthen the genetics? i have no i dea but i saw a cool video on u tube the search is under marij grafting, this guy has one mother plant with 6 strains on it

Take 2 Strains, cross them.

Take the F1 Seeds that you just created and grow them.

Pick your best Male and Female; cross them.

Take the F2 Seeds and grow them.

Again, pick your best Males and Females (by best I mean pick the ones that have the traits you are trying to achieve).

Keep doing steps 3-4 until you get a a good number of plants that show the phenotypes that you wanted in your own strain.

I don't know much about back crossing but I would guess that backcrossing an F1 with one of the better F4's or F5's would bring out that specific trait at a higher level of chance (statistically) that the new seeds will contain a biased genotype that will hopefully only show the traits you wanted in the first place.


Now my question to the more experienced breeders; how did I do explaining it all? If the information correct or am I just blowing hot air?
