so.... how long should i actually flower, will these be ready to harvest?

this is my first grow to completion, i'm 32 days into flowering with my pretty girl.

i had planed on next monday (35 days into flowering) to start flushing the soil for 10 days before harvest (so i'd be 45 days into flowering)

from the pictures below (taken just now) am i pushing the schedule? should i wait another 5 or 10 days more before flushing?

and if i flush for 10 days, which would put me at 45 days, and i still don't think it's ready to harvest, will it hurt the plant to extend the grow another 10 days or so? meaning, will it still have the nutrients to keep growing, or will it die off? or will i be able to start nuting again, and then flush again, without going way past optimal harvesting period?


i'm growing in soil, and using molasses, 1/3 nut solution every feeding (though once a week i do feed them just straight water) i don't think there is really any other info needed for this question, but if there is, let me know!

EDIT: oh yeah and this is just bag seed i'm growing so i don't know the strain or anything about it

I wouldnt yet be patient wait a little longer they still have some time to swell way to early they have a ways to go still

i just don't wanna harvest to early lol, way too much work to ruin it with being stupid

so how long should i flower for an unknown strain...

60 days? more?

just keep an eye on the trichos... when they are close to 50% cloudy 50% amber then start your flush by the time your done flushing in your 10 day period they will be good but ya your looking at a good 60 days becouse it looks like a sativa which takes longer to flower and really start to pack it on later in the period they will probaly push double the size they are now by the time there thru good luck man and enjoy thats a nice grow

you really need to get a microscope if u dont have one and check the trichomes. but ya i would wait at least 60 days or more. my bagseed first grow took bout 65 days. gl

nah dude, you don't really need a microscope.. get yourself a 30x jewlers loupe.. you can get them for under $5, and these will work great for gettin up close and personal with the trics.. or if you have a digital camera check to see if it has a macro setting on it.. my friend uses hers with great affect to get great snaps of her trics..
also, radio shack sell this handheld microscope for about $15 or so.. this is what i got. it has 60-100x zoom.. although i can see the trichs great with this, i am only able to see a small section of them at a time, and it takes a lil getting used to looking through it and you have to be patient with it, other than that it works great.
do a google search for the 420 scope and see what that one looks like so if you wanna go to radio shack you will know what you are looking for as the one they sell looks almost identical to that one for much less $$$$..
best of luck.. i really do think that what you are facing is one of the biggest dilema's for new growers.. after all of your hard work, just remember to be patient, and another good piece of advice is when you think it is ready, wait another week.. you could always cut a smaller bud off and let it dry for a couple of days first and see how that is.. if the bud smells green and like freshly cut grass after a few days of drying, you know that it is not ready yet..

i would think that would work, but it looks a little like overkill.. just look for a plain maryjane jewlers loupe, but make sure that it is atleast 30x magnification

i was thinking about this question, on the vein of what you said.


my buds do look puny compared to some of the pictures i see on here....

is the size of the bud mostly genetic, or as this being my first grow to completion, will mine fill out a bit at least?

i know its not a super duper crazy big bud skunk, etc strain, but, what exactly should i be expecting the final product to look like..


does anyone have any pictures of bagseed like this right before harvest?
