So how many medical records do I need to get my rec?

I'm interested in applying for my patient cert. but I was curious how extensive my medical records need to be documenting my condition? I've had a jacked up shoulder from something called "winging of the scapula" that causes a shit ton of very nasty nerve pain but I've only been to the orthopedic surgeon once at which point he took some x-rays and examined my shoulder which was at least 8 months ago and my shoulder has gotten no better and the only remedy the doc had was physical therapy (i.e. waste of time & money) or surgery. I'm definitely not letting some doc hack my shit up so it looks like the jacked up shoulder is a lifetime gift for me. I suppose my question would then be do I need to have another followup and have an mri done or will the initial exam and x-ray's suffice?

Even with my insurance (which already costs $400/month), it costs me $40 every time I go to the ortho and money ain't exactly growing on trees for me at the moment so I'm not interested in making any unnecessary visits. Thanks for the help y'all.

Well this thread will get Bob and Timmahh fighting also, but IMO it is up to the doctor signing the recommendation. Are you gonnna go to Dr Bob (edit:from rollitup, not the good dr. bob from up north here) who will only let you medicate only if you prove you are equally is fucked up as him, or are you going to Dr. Timmahh who thinks that marijuana will help you medicinally regardless if you are exaggerating your claim of your shoulder or not.
That is what it boils down to. What area do you live in, many of us know where you can go. Marijuana is a medicinal plant and those that don't think so are ignorant to that fact, and those that medicate themselves and don't believe it is medicinal are ignorant to many facts. Bottom line is, you have records and you shouldn't have a problem at all.

In Washington I know green wellness would more than likely take you due to the fact that you have pain that is
unrelieved by standard methods. IE: Physical therapy, You do not want surgery, I have an addiction to oxy what ever
or pain meds make you sick even. If you have your records in hand you will have it the same day. If not they can get
the records. I took my mri with me and let them know what has been tried and why it does not suit me and it was that
easy + 173 bucks 100 yearly renew. Good luck

A dr can take a Medical History on you. Any records you can provide to support your illness will be helpful. But a Dr can diagnose you with zero pre existing records.

if you have shoulder issues, and insurance, and you can get a referral, you need to get into Dr Chuilo's office. He is in Troy. Probably one of the best Shoulder Drs in the US. and certainly the best in Mi.

Thanks to all of you who responded. I truly wasn't sure what to expect as I'm sure each doctor has different standards but I am just not interested in shelling out anymore money to the damn ortho doc when we both already know there's nothing that can be done so this is great news to me. Hell when I move my shoulder the wrong way, you can literally feel the pop in my shoulder blade...not a pleasant feeling. Some days I wake up and the damn thing feels like it's falling out of the socket to the point that I can't even raise my arm to put on a jacket without help. Good times...

I'm in GR and my wife is already a member of NAACP off 28th street so I considered just going there but I also checked out pure west michigan compassion club in holland. From what I hear, it's the best dispensary in SW michigan but it is a little drive from here. NAACP is really a crap shoot as far as their med quality goes....sometimes outstanding sometimes not and the budtenders are dumber than a box of rocks so you really have to fly by the seat of your pants on selection. But it's close and in town so convenience is everything sometimes...pure west will only allow you to shop @ their place if you get your cert there so I figure that may be an added bonus in case the wife and I run dry at any point. Anybody been to pure west? BTW, any doctors y'all might suggest in the GR area, I'm open for suggestions.

I don't think this will start any arguments. It really just depends on the Dr. Find a 1 night Hotel room special, and you will need no documentation at all.

Good action bob...I like the permanent location so i'll be checking in on this one. I don't so much have a problem with the traveling docs but the no documentation ones who rubber stamp every cert are bit of a black eye on the community. To each their own though.

I went to one in detroit for $75 cert, no record required. I have my LARA MMMA card now in my hand two months later. seriously regret it though with all these law changes. I feel like a sitting duck waiting to get busted by the feds when this patient registry is siezed by the feds

If you ain't pushin weight, you have nothing to worry about guy. Feds couldn't give 2 farts in the wind about your little 12 plant grow. They only care when big money or big plant counts are involved. I don't believe I've ever heard of a patient having their door kicked in by the feds for a personal grow. Now if you get caught on the feds radar when you flip 4 lbs to the local dispensary....that's another story (i.e. money and weight involved = news).

none-

talking to a doctor about your condition, and him prescribing relief, is common.

its called establishing a doctor / patient relationship.

Agreed...it's not as much the weed, as the money....when the money gets big...tax evasion comes to mind for the Feds...Be it a doughnut shop or cannabis.
