I planted 4 seeds, they are under a 10500 lumen bulb about 10 inches away. I planted them at 2am sunday morning (31 hours ago). I did not germinate them, i read around on this site and it appears you don't have to. so i have a few questions.
How long will the seeds usually take it sprout if not paper toweled or anything like that?
How wet should the soil stay during this whole germination/sprouting period?

You may also want to cover the mouth of your containers with plastic wrap as high humidity levels are perfect for young plants. I've only ever germinated prior to planting and the seedling usually pops 3-5 days after planting, maybe quicker. Add that to the week it could take for seeds to germinate and you may be looking at a week-and-a-half before you see any signs of plant life. As TGSS advised, be patient and you'll be greatly rewarded!

Im probably going to try the trick with putting plastic rap over the pots to raise humidity. So now were at 43 hours, no signs of life. Im experiencing that first child syndrome.

Alright, i examined the tops of the soil just minutes ago. I can see one really small sprout with the shell pieces still on it poking just a little out. Im a parent! I hope its a girl.

Be patient with the rest, as well - it can be up to a week or more, before they sprout, without germination first.

Ok so that sprout got a little bit higher. When the sprout is done with the shell, are the insides of the shells sometimes "leaf green", or does that mean it could have unfortunately lost a future leaf.

When the shell falls off, there are only two small, rounded leaves - often pressed together. Do you have two leaves? If not then you lost one.

12 hours later it shed the other half of the shell. that side looked that same on the inside. Like it had a thin film colored "leaf green". Plant looks fine, it hasn't opened its leaves just yet.
