So I want to make some hash

Hello everyone,

Im a heavy smoker and this year I have decided to try to grow a bigger crop, much bigger. Although I have the conditions to grow all these plants outdoor, I am struggling with the other factors.
I can maybe pull off drying the plants but I don't have that much room either, but then I will have to trim all those buds alone and I have no condition to cure that much weed... Anyway, final decision: hash.

Im not a much experienced grower, let alone hash maker, only did it once for the experience.
I have a question for you big fellas, what are the best ways to make hash in bigger quantities, keeping in mind that I don't have a lot of resources, like a huge freezer to freeze the herb nor a lot of dry ice because it's not economical.

If you veteran guys could share your wisdom, it would be really helpful to me and hopefully to other people too.

I'm not the guy for advice on process but if you can spend a week or so without using it for other things, the top of your fridge freezer can hold a hell of a lot of pot. You could do a method that uses freezing in batches over a couple days. Just how much do you plan on harvesting?

If you don't want to / have space available to dry it, I'd just do bubble hash. You'd still want to do some light manicuring, remove the big fan leaves and stems and the like. Toss your somewhat cleaned bud into the freezer and then wash it.

If you're dabbing it you'll want to press that hash out into hash rosin.

Bubble bags in the 5gal size but you would still need lots of regular ice for that but you could chop up enough right off the plants for a batch, run that batch then keep going. You don't have to freeze it first.

Or just lay it out to dry fast then dry sift it. I make a nice black gummy hash by mixing 4 - 5g of dry sift with about 1g of honey oil but then you have to be able to make the oil for that. I need to get on that as I have over 200g of sift sitting around getting old.

With your limited resources you're going to have trouble doing much with a big crop other than hang drying it and jarring up the buds tho.

Plan ahead!

Have you ever made the gummy hash with oil from the plant? i have a dream of doing a dry sift then making oil from the leftovers and recombining them for an old school gummy black hash.

I filled 220 bags and used chilled ice water in a 26 gallon tub, beat that shit like I was trying to tear a phone book for 10 mins then drained the tub into a 120 and 25 bag. Hash was good... material has been sitting open in garage for half a year so wasn’t full melt stuff this round.

Take your trim and get a common culture trim tray for 50 bucks.

Run a half handful over the screen vigorously without being harsh on the screen. Then remove and run the brush over the screen. Clear off tray and brush underside. Repeat.

I can get a couple grams of kief, over an eighth from a half oz of trim in one run.

Then run again and you'll pull about the same.

Then make hash with the kief.

I use dry ice, in hash bag, shake it like a an epilectic! Get some good smoke and if you can McGuiver something up bc it gets tiring real quick.

There are a wide variety of methods. Check the concentrates thread for hash and the bubble bags thread in particular. A lot of people sharing their methods in detail. I do dry sift, bubble wash(mechanical and manual) as well as simply freezing buds are vigorously shaking it for a bit.

You will get smoke able regardless of method

It's a lot more work making hash than it is trimming buds, What you could do is only trim the nicest, biggest buds, and then use your smaller buds and trim from big buds to make bubble hash, which can be made it small batches. Fan leaves are not worth messing with, IMO.

That will work but for the best hash I like to make some BHO from all the sugar trim and popcorn buds to combine with the sift. Pot that I've sifted still has a lot of goodie in it so I save that up and do a mass wash with cold ISO or naphtha to get the rest.

I could just soak some sift in ISO and filter it to get some kick-ass oil too. Nothing but trichomes in the sift so no waxes or chlorophyll.

Im planning on having a lot of plants outdoor so I'm expecting at least 2000grams for hash that's why I am being a little paranoid cos the wet bud will be pretty chubby and my freezer compartment is a little small.But maybe it fits. Depends on the buds density maybe.

Yeah I'm probably going for bubble hash or dry ice method

I'm on a budget but You know maybe I will try to do some extra work and buy a fucking fridge xD

You made some good looking hash btw.good shiet bro.
