Obama, the better choice of the two, get used to it, it aint gonna change anytime soon. The American people are way too comfortable in their easy chairs and big screen TVs to get excited about politics. The Gas prices are pissing them off, but no-one knows what to do about it. Me, if I had the power, I'd nationalize the oil companies and reduce gas prices to a tolerable level, then begin in earnest taking a real look at the water car. I'm sure if we can walk on the moon we can find a way to separate oxygen and hydrogen and then re-introduce them into the internal combustion engine in a compatible way for combustion. I'll bet it is really pretty simple and has already been done, but subdued for the oil company's benefit. There are actually plans on the internet that aren't all that complex, but I have my doubts about them, especially the ones for sale. I'm really looking into the Brown gas compromise, that may help a little,

Thought I would get in on this one. I know its my first post, I've been lurking for awhile learning all I can. But using water as a source of energy for cars is not the most viable option. Water shortage is going to become one of the most rapidly growing problems in the near future and further diminishing the resources for transportation is a bad idea. There are much better alternatives such as ethanol produced from genetically altered bacteria, Plug-in hybrids ( Chevy Volt), and eventually electric cars recharged by home solar, or wind. Out of the two candidates, I feel much more comfortable that Obama understands it because McCain is controlled by the oil-companies.

As much as I'd like to disagree with you, I can't. I only hope we get a real tough Vice president. I'm favoring Jim Webb at this point, actually, Joe Biden may not be too bad, But Webb would be great. If they assassinate the vice, I'd really hate that cave-in Nancy Pelosi to be pres. She is a Bushie in disguise

Jim Webb anounced yesterday that his name was not in the race for vp at all, he is staying in the senate because he thinks he do more there

The beauty of the water car is it can use salt water, yup right out of the ocean. I doubt we'll run out of that source or we're in real trouble. And the exhaust out of the car is water vapor, should get sucked into the upper atmosphere. As far as the candidates, I believe you are correct. McCain is more of Bush, but on steroids. He is actually war crazed, IE Bomb Bomb Bomb, bomb bomb Iran.

And why does anyone think Obama will raise taxes on the working stiffs? He has made it clear that if you earn less tha 250K per year you are in the clear!

I like the idea of a brother in the White House thats admits to having smoked herb AND he inhaled!!!!

To each his own, everyone is going to see the other person as being wrong when it comes to politics. Republicans paint themselfs as the God fearing patrioits. I live in the bible belt, seems like everyone here is for McCain maily becuase everyone's preacher said he was God's hand picked man. They've done this for the last 8 years about Bush. before that, we had 8 years of hearing that Clinton was the devil himself.

In the biblebelt, everyone has only two political concerns... Abortion and Money.
They believe that if the man says that he's against abortion, then that man is God's man. But while this same president is in office the abortion rate rises some 70 or more precent? And while the decade before the abortion rate was at a all time low, the president then favored abortion. To me, I'd rather have the man who favors abortion, but keeps it low, rather than the man who is against it but hits an all time high at it.

As far as the money issue goes. I believe gas prices will lower when Obama takes office. He's not in the Oil busniess like Bush and Cheney are. Plus, people don't seem to understand how the tax system will help us.

I'll use the Health care system. If it were a free health care system in America, and everyone paid a tax, it would be cheaper than paying the doctor and perscriptions. Granted there would be a longer wait at the doctors office. I don't care about the wait, I care about being able to pay.

Someone mention earlier about how Obama will tax the companies, not the individuals. that's true... but do expect to see a few taxes go up, but other prices to come down..

Find a source for this that is verifiable. The process you've detailed violates the second law of thermodynamics.

Everything I've seen is BS or urban legend.

I think Obama's going to win in the fall. He's not my first choice—I would much prefer Kucinich, if only to be able to ogle his wife for four years—but he's a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

I don't consider McCain to be a serious candidate at all. He's only running because the GOP has to run somebody and it's his turn, but I don't think he stands a chance in hell of winning.

Everybody can see how badly the Republicans have fucked up, and everybody feels like it's time for a change.

I have, and there is no source of verifiable information.

Dave, principle political leanings aside, as a member of the rapidly vanishing middle class for the moment, I have much more faith in our future in the hands of the DNP. While I agree that Obama's strategies need some work, I don't believe any tax increases will target the income bracket that includes your employees. Furthermore, I doubt seriously that McCain's tax breaks would help them significantly.

Who do you think is more likely to take a stand on oil profiteering?

I don't know the size of your business, but do you think that in a time of economic downturn a president could get away with increasing taxes on small and mid-sized businesses?

Well, since this is a political site, I doubt it is incumbent on me to prove anything. I posted the water car as a possibility. Can you prove that this is not possible? I think you are just looking to start shit with me. google water car and watch some video, try Utube, watch the inventer of one car end up being killed. Have I rode in one,. no, but i've never been to the moon either but I believe someone has. this technology exists, it's been stifled by the oil companies since the thirties. Think about it. H2O, Hydrogen a very explosive gas, and oxygen the very necessary ingredient to have an explosion, split them apart, I'm sure that's doable and re-insert them into the ICE in a timed explosion, why do you believe this to be impossible?

You have obviously never studied thermodynamics, and this is why you don't understand this.

Let me explain this in simple terms: it takes a finite amount of energy to separate hydrogen and oxygen. This is called electrolysis.

In the case that we ignore entropy, you may recover the same amount of energy by reacting hydrogen and oxygen to form water. In reality, this is impossible because of entropy.

This is one of many reasons that the hydrogen economy is not feasible. It takes a lot of energy to perform electrolysis. If it was energetically cheap, so would be desalinization of water. It is not, so without alternative energy sources, it just doesn't make any sense. You put in more energy to make the fuel than you get out of it when you combust it.

Therefore, any working prototype of a 'water car' in fact uses some other fuel, such as a hydride, to power the car. The concept of a car that you put water into and power a car with - in the absence of another energy source - is not possible ... at least by the physics i know.

Who ever said politics was civil. I guess you haven't been reading these posts for any time: Try this one by Dave: "I'll knock your cum stained teeth down your motherfucking throat", now does that sound civil? I guess you must hang out on a civilized site. It seems like threats like that on any other site would be grounds for exclusion, But I can take it,and I might add, dish it out a little also. This is far from being a civilized site. The very nature of politics brings out the best and the worst in men/women. I do believe though, that it is possible without expanding great energy to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen and reinsert them into an explosion in an ICE. I believe this world saving technology is being withheld from us by the Powers that be, Think about it, hydrogen driven generators to make power, then the water vapor exhaust being reinserted into the atmosphere, a continous cycle of basically free energy. Why would we need the power company. Can you see the reasons they are witholding this energy source. Have you ever witnessed a brown gas generator, a simple way to extract hydrogen from the water. check one out. They have the one I'm thinking about on ebay for about 300.00. Claims to improve Gas mileage from 20-50-60%. At 4.00+++ a gallon, that would only take about ten tankfuls to repay itself, then it would save you a bundle. BTW it only takes between 10-30 amps@12 volts to Mfgr that gas, something any car can accept without any problems.
