GasTanker- Shipping containers would be wonderful, but there is no way to deliver them, and have them set in the location.
Firsttime- Awesome, some very good information. I will take that into account.
I have 4 pallets of concrete. Honestly I have no idea how much concrete is there, 35-40 bags I guess per pallet. How far will this get me? Do I need more? Im not really interested in having anyone come out to this project if you catch my drift.
WeeGogs- Lol. I believe I am sensing sarcasm, I am not sure. We are aware that this is in-fact not a bunker right?
BeeRite- Don't sense the dickiness. Lol. Some good numbers too. And actually its 12x12x10-8 fluctuates with the weather lol. I agree with you 110% that it should be built to last, but money and time is becoming a major issue, running out of both, as I said this is a place of business, redirecting traffic is becoming increasingly difficult. I feel that if I could build something to last a few years, even one would be significant enough to make a difference the second room build right?
I don't understand "drain the daylight". I assume you just mean everything that is coming in.
Norton- I believe it is worth it, because I own the property and it will serve for years(if it can survive). An indoor grow is just out of the question. I don't really see this being a "small" grow. I don't be any means see it being large, but I don't know many people with anything above a stealth grow, or closet grow. With a 4x12 area I should be able to get something worth while out of that. IR blocker. I will look into that. Could solve a lot. Not looking for a little bud, I would love to see 3 1000w's in there.
Ok lets talk something different. As I said the dirt cover isn't really needed. Putting grass on top of the thing will be fine. Nobody will ever be walking around there, hell I could build a deck over the area...
So all that we need to worry about is the sides. I like the precast slab idea, however if it would involve anymore than the slab being delivered then it won't work. I can't see moving all that weight without equipment either, which won't fit. Pretty much everything will need to be built on site and in place I am thinking.
So walls/drainage/foundation. These are the main issues.
With firstTimes numbers, I actually think Walls and Foundation are pretty much set. 8" walls is a shit load of concrete however...
Drainage, I had assumed that water and soil being what they are, that the water would travel through the soil, be diverted by the building and travel further down. It never really rains enough to completely saturate the ground here. I don't believe too much water would gather. Would it be a better idea though to have say a 55 gallon drum in the ground underneath the building with the water being directed to it with a pump to keep it dry? Is a pit not enough? Wouldn't the water soak into the earth? I think concrete around a wooden structure would work better, being that moisture is absorbed by concrete. I feel this will create an overall very low temp in the winter months with just concrete walls. With the wood to separate the two, should help control temperature? I think I have covered pretty much everything.
I really don't mind criticism, by all means give it, I do value my life. But don't tell me to stop, because that isn't the idea. Lol...
