For those not on ignore... Cops have a job to do. They get treated like shit every day they do their job by a good percentage of people they have to deal with.

If you are a dick to a cop they go into dick mode. However, if you are reasonable, relatively polite and work with them they can be amazingly easy to deal with.

The cop got called because someone was worried about your son and instead of being grateful that the community gives a shit you attack the cop for doing his job....

The cop was doing his job. Actually he could have done something if your kid had kept screaming for his momma. Like talk to the kid and ask him who YOU were.

If the kid had just kept screaming for momma and hadn't identified you as his father, how dumb would you be for not having identification?

Kids get nabbed all the time, HELL, go talk to giggles! I bet he was happy people called the cops when someone ran off with his kid.

If you continue to be difficult and refuse to identify yourself (with the kidnapped child screaming for his mom) he will be inclined to arrest you. Which is why he "threatened" to subdue you unless you cooperate.
