Bonzai-man. I like the Bokashi. Fast breakdown and worms turn it to black really fast. You know how it goes. But all that is packed up as I get ready to move...

Very, very cool site, bookmarked it instantly. Looks like a lovely person and biz to support. Also rather support the smaller guy that lives for his passion. Thanks again Rrog!

How do you guys handle root bound plants when upcanning before flowering? I am going from 1 gallon to 3 and 5 gallon buckets. The plants are pretty rootbound. Damn fungus and bacteria.

This is how Uncle Ben recommends doing it, which I have done several times with good success...

"Upcanning (repotting) - Score the rootball - pop the ball out and using a razor blade or sharp knife insert it about ½" into the rootball at the top and slice thru the exposed roots from top to bottom concentrating on any root spinout at the bottom. Rotate the rootball and do this about 4 times. Bury the “trunk” as deep as you can even if it means pulling off some of the lower leafsets. This will induce root output all along the buried trunk. "

Can't hurt. I sure like the idea of the larger pot already having some companion plant growing. Like clover. That way the new soil is already jumpin' and the smaller pot is already jumpin'. Would seem that adding microbes at that point maybe not getting you a payback. Unlike a tea. Just an opinion.
