So who here is growing in true organic living soil?

Captain, when you're giving them veggie/fruit scraps, put them in the freezer over night first, and then let it thaw. That, or blend up the stuff you're giving them. These two steps will greatly speed up the decomposition.

A freeze-thaw cycle works great in a lot of processes/extractions. Serves to rupture cellular walls and break protein chains. Solid advice, what I'm going to do is freeze/thaw all my kitchen refuse before composting, thanks for the idea. A ziploc bag in the freezer to dump the scraps in fresh, before they stink. Soon as it's full, thaw and add to the heap.

My daughter came along collecting leaf mould, horse poop, nettle etc, helped me build the new compost pile. She reckons she LOVES composting. As in she really enjoyed every part of the chore. That's pretty badass for a 10-year-old. I'm so proud :)

It's what Id call normal soil. I only bought in a store to be certain. There's a lot of soy bean agriculture, but it seems to me that soy can grow in many media.

Ok I called Morgan Composting that makes dairy doo and a bunch of other products. Before I new it I was talking to Brad Morgan the president, that kind of thing usually never happens when you call a company. He told me they do constant testing and there is slight chance you could get a batch that could harm the worms but unlikely. They sell worm castings and use dairy doo to feed their own worms, and I found out they even sell worms at $22 a pound. They use about a 30% mix of dairy doo with their worms and only use dairy cattle calves for their source of manure because of the controlled diet their fed, make a more consistent compost. I've been using their products since last year and they seem very good. I had my mix a little hot so I just got done mixing in a little more paper and some coco coir, worms seem happy.

Great! Right on top of this shit there captain! I think you're making a good decision to cut the Dairy Doo back a bit and add more of the other bedding .... just to be safe.

No fresh lobster for you. ;-)

Kali Bubba. Cinnamon spice. I swear your tongue burns pleasantly as if you had a few too many spicy cinnamon candies. This was cut a week ago. Sample addiction. The rest was cut the other night. I spent one minute trimming her. It really has the nicest unique scent. Just beautiful.

Rrog. I am sorry I posted the Kali Bubba here. I just lit a blunt and I before I knew it I was typing away. :eyesmoke: It's very strong. This cuts through tolerance. Nice clear up high.
