Right now i currently am running my old 4 foot 6 bulb t5 ho light in a 4x2 tent using a mix of 2700k and 6000k spectrum. I also have a 45 watt (actual watts, or 150 watt replacement) led in a cabinet for my cloning tray and a few small vegging plants, and then a mother plant. I took around 30 clones recently, and I am trying to decide how I want to go about growing them. I have a 1000 watt HPS setup just sitting here that I really would like to use, but in the apartment that I live in, I don't think its going to be possible- just too much power and too much heat. So instead of using the 1000 watt that I have and originally was planning on using, I think I am going to have to buy a new 600 watt ballast. I am thinking I will use a 4x4 tent with the 600 watt hps in it, and then I will use the 400 cfm 6 inch fan and carbon filter that I have in my 4x2 tent to cool the light and tent, and I will purchase a 4 inch fan and filter for the old 4x2 tent setup. I think I want to continue to run both of them in order to maximize my yield, and this way I am close to a total of 1000 watts, but with a bigger footprint.
I think I will try to run a SOG in order to use the clones I have taken and to get a quicker harvest. In a 4x4 tent using 1 gallon pots, does anyone know exactly how many I should be able to fit? I am going to be running early skunk and strawberry banana grape strains. I have an ac in the room that the tents are in and temps arent really a problem at all. If you have any ideas at all, let me know. I should be able to do this all with around 300 dollars I am thinking. 85 or so for the tent, 60 for the filter and fan, 100 for ballast and new bulb, and then some other random stuff. I am just realizing that there's no way I am going to be able to pull enough from my 4x2 tent running a 324 watt fluorescent light in order to supplement my habit. So again, how many plants should I run in a SOG in a 4x4 tent under a 600 watt hps? and does anyone have any better ideas of how I should set this up in order to maximize potential yield? Are 1 gallon pots the best size for SOG?
