Sog vs Scrog

Is it really just the veg time?
Any reason other than plant count to go for Scrog over sog?

What's really special, is how you got a well known member status but have no clue the difference between sea of green or screen of green. Dumb dumb. Go read and figure it out. A billion and fucking 1 websites out there with plenty of info on the topic. Yet here you are asking a question that's been answered 2 billion times because you're too lazy to search for the info and read it. Yet you're going to end up reading it here. If you're that lazy and cant figure out how to use Google then just give up now!

I'm a well known member but I don't know shit!!! You become well known by posting a lot, as I have... I really hate to say this but you guys are truly some fuckin cyber bullies!!! If the smartest person knows that they DON'T know EVERYTHING, you guys are STUPID because you don't know ANYTHING!!! Don't start a new year on some bullshit!!! This is supposed to be a great place for information, not player hating... Shalom!!!

Anyways yes I do know the dif between them, have grown both actually

I know that sog is a lot more work coz u got a lot more watering to do and Scrog u tuck and bend

I know the goal is to fill out the canopy

My question is about the yield not the technique not asking what each is just asking from ppl who grow one way or the other why they grow tha way,

Is it just for less plant numbers or....

I like SOG better than SCROG for the following reasons:

- SOG method maximizes footprint, and utilizes all available space as best as possible
- less veg time is more environmentally friendly, and technically using less wattage to get same output
- less veg time means less chance of something bad happening to the plants
- smaller plants are easier to manage in smaller tents/closets
- less time spent training plants
- my soil/nutrients are expensive. not a fan of spending time growing bushes that I then have to defoliate and throw out 1/2 of the plant matter.
- lollipopping and growing larger main colas means less time trimming and less popcorn

I think SCROG has its advantages, if you only have a limited amount of seeds and/or are concerned about plant limits. I also never understood how this became a thing. Using canopy size or total wattage would make way more sense bc I can grow 36 plants or 1 plant and get same output. Forcing me to have to limit my plant count greatly reduces efficiencies, and is wasteful imho. Other people would argue that giving plants a longer veg is more natural and allows the plant to express itself better.

I am not quite at full SOG yet but my new setup is getting closer with shorter veg and smaller 2 gallon pots packed closer together.

I’m starting a new set up and am torn about which way to go

I’ll be running clones off mums so no cost

Guess I’ll run 1 shelf of each and see

Like I used too till plant numbers were a issue sog all time my first very crop was a sog nine plants tho soon became more mrpro1981 on you tube gbomb clones in 7 litre pots no veg I only had a seed to start with offa mate a big Buddha gbomb some nice phenos if ya look I spent a year looking after my first I was addicted sog is great just need a mom space for maximum effect

Yes

grown both in dif spaces dif situations at dif times no direct comparison

I suppose I should say my space is a micro
I’ve 2 shelves each 50x80cm

I’m thinking 1 gallon/ 4L pots and maybe 5 per shelve

Or 16 small girls per shelf?(prob do a tray for this)

2 x 3 gallon pots with bulmats?

I’ve got gear from bigger grows laying around...
