1000 watts is good for a 4x4 area and maybe a few inches more. I wouldn't set it up for a 6 foot spread and expect any sort of light penetration.A 1000 watt can cover a 6x6 space so you may want to add a few more in there if you are going with 1 gal bags. You should veg the clones for 1-2 weeks to see yields of 1 oz per plant.
If you get them to 8-12 inches with 6-10 noids in veg you should see yields around 1 oz dry wight per plant. It will also depend on strain, conditions and nutes used. You can fit a TON of 1 gal bags under a 1k.

Growing 12/12 from clone, expect to get about 1/4 oz per plant (obviously depending on size of clones) to start, and work your way up from there.
I'm getting about 1/2 oz per plant on my ebb and flow tables and working my way up.
The light on the left is 1000w hps and covers 4'x4' perfectly.
I let 'em go. But there are alot of peopl who swear by lollipopping.
