Soil aeration and drainage

is oil-dri a ph neutral material? isn't it basically glorified kitty litter? I'd be really weary before putting that anywhere near my plants...

I just checked the MSDS and it didn't have any info for ph. It is compromised of bentonite clay, which I believe is what kitty litter is made out of. However, oil-dri contains no clumping agents, perfumes, and dyes.

it also breaks down and turns to mush....so if you want to suffocate your root system...go for it :D

also looks like bentonite clay has a PH in the high 9.x range...I'd be REALLY worried about using that in soil...

ok...so stomp on all the professional soil growers then...have fun growing ;)
Thanks man. Never did I stomp on what anyone else was doing.

I have happy, healthy, plants in mixes that contain oil-dri. I only stopped by to see if anyone has used it for MJ, as I have only used it for cacti and herbs.
