Ok .. i went and got some MG potting soil and started my plants.. but after further digging .. well actually not to much really .. lol i found that MG isn't at all that good for plants later on .. becuase of the ph indifferance and time released nutes.. screws everything up .. well i need to know that if i go and get some foxfarm soil.. when i transplant them into there final home.. will it matter much if i transplant them into the foxfarm from the MG or is it better to just let them ride it out. in the MG.

here is a couple pics of how they look now.. i keep them away from the CFL's about 1 1/2 inches..

transplant asap. try to wash away the mg soil if you can without damageing the roots. just make sure that you use only water for a few weeks to insure that all the nutes from the remaining mg soil are gone

Your plants are still pretty young, if you wanted to change soils I'd do it now before they develop extensive root systems. Once that happens it's going to be a major beeyotch to clean and move them without damaging them.

I wouldn't stress out too much about the soil though, I am using miracle gro for my first grow with good results so far. When you read these forums just keep in mind that most of these people are experienced growers who are shooting for maximum yields. Don't forget that marijuana is a weed; as long as they get light and water you can really abuse the hell out of them and they can survive. May not smoke good though :eyesmoke:

Mg will work for you just don't over water. when you replant there is no need to get rid of the mg soil the roots will grow into the new soil. I would also say don't waste money on fox farm hype for a cfl grow. just find a good no nute potting soil and add about a 1/3 perllite. I like the black gold coco blend myself. only added about 1/4 perlite to that.

you are correct.. and i do keep that in mind.. about max yield thing.. but if im gonna take all this time.. and effort to do 2 plants..i kinda want to max yield it as well.. so i understand what your saying... and yes.. i should have the new soil in 3-4 days.. and l haven't had any problems with the soil as of yet either.. but from what im reading its later on in the cycle that it will start to effect it..

its my first run .. so im logging everything .. that i do .. and when i do it.. so the next run .. is smoother..

max yeild is a mute piont in a cfl grow. I used mg in my first grows with only a lillte nute burn. The plants came out ok. if you want max yeild trade those cfl's for mh and hps. Your cfl's should not be more then a few inches off the tops of your plants. I run mine a 3-4 using 100w lights.

I've found one of the easyest to use is alaska fish fert. hard to burn the plants. only down fall is the veg nute is a bit smelly.

they have a bloom nute also. I add superthrive and molasses. along with a little lime in the soil. keep your ph around 6.5 and only water after the soil has dried out alot.

I would let that mg soil go 3-4 weeks before adding nutes and then start with 1/4 mix of what ever your nutes are. sorry lol you will replant before you need nutes.
