Soil Cooking

Hey guys. Im starting a grow very very soon and don't have time to "cook" the soil. Im going to use 6 cu ft. of Roots Organics original potting soil. Im going to need 7.5 cu ft of soil though. That means im going to be adding .5 cu ft of Ancient Forest Alaskan Humus, 10 pounds of high quality EWC (roughly .45 cu ft of EWC) and about .5 cu ft of perlite. My question is: Do i need to allow time to cook if im only adding humus, EWC and Perlite?

no, you do not. and to clear something up, the "cook" is not a cook at all. it's an inoculation period. it allows organisms to multiply and begin the soil food web. I would be willing to bet though, that roots organic soil will not have enough juice to get you all the way through flower if your plants have decent size to them. are you planning on doing a water only grow?

No im not doing a water only as my plants will only be in 3 gallon containers. I have Kelp Meal, 0-7-0 Guano from budswell, 20 lbs of EWC, Mycorrezhea and Myco chum which is a bennie feeder. I also have some Neptunes harvest fish a seaweed fert

Look at making sst to feed the herd , I use organic whole corn sold as animal feed
To use as the sprouting grain , SST , they help breakdown your top feeds quicker

I would also add neem, a bit more kelp too (on top, not mixed in) and do biochar instead of perlite, which is quite a bit better if keeping this soil long term and running in small pots

it would go real nicely with all those species of bacteria and fungus you're introducing with the alaskan
