soil grower who got aerogarden for x-mas!!!

like the title say i am a soil grower at heart but my moms in law got me a a.g. 4 x-mas!!! so i am going to give it a shot!! so if any one knows any good info or links for beginning aero growing hook me up!!! i really need to know good strains, modifications(diy and prefabed), nutes, or/and good tips and maybe a grow journal or two!!! i have the basic model and i have good knowledge of the workings of cannabis, i just never looked into aerogrows or even hydro .much appreaciated and merry christmas to all

yea but i dnt see to much spec. about aerogardens. pretty much my main questions are....
1. do i need to modify the water tub and the equipment housed in it?
2. how can i make/or buy cheap pods( or seed holders)
3. good strains for a.g. (im guessing autoflower)?
4. good examples and/or detailed guides?
5.this may sound stupid but ive never really researched hydro but can you use clay pellets made of white clay???

now i know there will prob be someone who will say why dont you read the grow facts then ask questions, and probably go on to complain about it! well i say to you ahead of time dont bother posting if its going to be negative!!! because i am studying i just want some facts from others! i plan on growing the herbs that came with it first so i can get some knowledge of mj cultivation in it. ohh another question, what are the optimal conditions as far as temps inside and out, p.h., and so on?
im sorry if i sound ignorent but i cant find a good source of reliable info!

i also would like to know some good ways of reusing or diy seed pods? i aint paying 30 bucks for new ones f that. could u use any kind of foam?

just read the directions for tomatoes it should be realativly close or wait for someonelse who knows more

sorry man i couldnt help much im an organic grower really just helpin out as i can...and to tell you the truth its so much easier and i still get some nice nugs

Is that the kind of gift you can't return because you'll hurt someones feelings?

If you can return it I suggest you do, and then you can use the money to set up a much better hydro system many times that size with a light many timesmore powerful, with consumables that aren't nearly that expensive.

Just a suggestion... There are those $20 150w hps's which blow this whole aerogarden out of the water even if just used in soil.

People on this site will help you if you decide to use that money for a better system but don't know where to begin.

You can get all that stuff but use two $20 lights for this same money.

I know that's just using dirt, but look at what this will support and how inexpensive it would be to use two lights like that with the hydro system in the I grow chronic video.

That video shows everything start to finish and step by step how to build it.

well thanks oregonmeds but i have no probs with my soil grow, not saying it couldnt be better but im going to do the aero on the side and see what happens! i have been thinking about using a autoflower strain so i think this is the way im going to try some. and as far as the actual a.g. goes itll just be one of those thigim going to playt with and try to mod in a way that i can easily go back to factory settings and setup to grow herbs(not smoking ones) every now and again..
