Most all of the replies are IMO overwatering. That will often result in faster growth, until diseases or insects attack. The more diseases and insects you have, the more treatments will need to be given.
I water no more often than every 5 days. I have gone as long as 11 days in 2-gal plastic pots (almost 9" top diameter). I'm currently watering once every 7 or 8 days.
There are some variables, the leaf area of the plant or how big it is relative to the pot, the temperatures in the grow area, humidity, airflow, etc.
