Soil or DWC?

This is my first attempt at a grow, and I have done a ton of research. So, I hope everything that is going right stays that way.

First a little about my set up I am using 3 4' 32W fluorescence lights w/daylight bulbs for my vegetative stage, and a 400W HPS. for flowering. I also have an inline fan w/carbon filter, and a constant circulating fan on the plants. I started my grow with white widow and L.A. Woman because my research said that those two strains were easy not only for newbies but also indoors.

I started 6 plants from seed in soil. After I started to flower 4 of the WW's and the L.A. Woman I kept my strongest WW for a mother plant. I decided to try and clone her, and got 4 successful clones. So, I decided to try DWC because I have read so many good things about it.

I am using 10 gal. gray tubs that I ended up covering with black plastic because to much light was getting through them and causing algae to grow. I keep my PH at about 5.8 and my PPM right now because they have just started there third week is at 980. The water temp stays at about 65 degrees F., the air temp is at 77 degrees F., and the humidity is at 44%.

Sorry this was so long but I want to find out what everyone thinks of my first grow? and what do you think is easier to maintain Soil or DWC?

Personally, I think it's better to start in soil until you get the hang of 'reading' your plants, and getting an idea of their fert requirements, etc..... I'm not saying the hydro is a bad idea, I'm just saying that soil gives you alot more room for mistakes, and is much easier on a new grower.

Also....The plants look pretty good. Excellent work.

Thank you, right now I'm just going to do these four plants to see how this goes. I'm using Fox Farm grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom and I hope by following their schedule everything will turn out ok.

^Another good idea would be to go look at some grow journals and find some that are similar to your setup. Find one that has it fine-tuned, and use that as a template for your own. You'd probably have to adjust the nute requirements a little, but it should be fairly close.

if this is your first grow you should go with soil, hydroponic could be a little complicated on your first go around.

If it were me, I would do DWC but that's because i have a background in growing veggies in them. For my first grow i decided to go with what i know and kept it dwc, the "when to water" is taken out of the picture and i welcome that.

As long as you keep an eye on your nutrients with your meter you would do fine.
