  • i have two new sprouts i plan on vegging for two weeks indoors, but then transfer them to the outdoors. as of right now the sprouts are in red cups with MG soil under 4 27 watt bright white CFL's with 1x42 watt 2700k on 18on/6off light cycle. when i transfer them outside i am going to transfer them into 10 gallon pots. should i go with soil? or a soilless medium? if i went with soil i was thinking about going with fox farm ocean forest, and if i went with soil less i would use coco noir and perelite (70% coco 30% perelite). what are your thoughts?

my thoughts is why not stick em in the ground now you have the option of growing outdoors ?

make all the different when they have unlimited space for the roots, also transfer from soil to a soilless medium might curse you some problems, PH need to be much lower in a soilless medium (5,8 instead of 6,5) so no matter what I would stick to soil now you started them out in it, even if you do decide to stick em in the ground (only reason I can think of not to is Bc. of thieves or low night temps) I would still make a nice soil mix and dig a big hole and fill it with the fresh soil mix of your own to give em a perfect start ..

the reason i dont want to plant them straight into the ground is because i have very poor soil qualiity. its got a lot of clay in itg. but if i were to dig a big hole and add extra soil, what should it be?

you should do a drainage test before planting if you have clay soil...when i did my test the hole never drained...
i use a mix of coco, perlite, ffof and happy frog..it works well and is hard to over water....

try to google "soil recipes for cannabis" lots of things to add to make a perfect soil mix

I like to use a organic base like ALL Mix and use maybe 60-70% add 10% perlite and 10% coco, rest is stuff like blood and bone meal, kelp meal and Dolomite Lime, Epsom salt and Bat guano aso.

i use straw bails. dig a big hole and throw the bail in at least 2 weeks before you plant. water it heavy for those 2 weeks. add nitrogen. and then plant. cheap and works just like soil less....
