soil ph and water ph

There's so much information on this site and others that I don't know what to go by.

So say if i had a nute lockout would it be as simple as putting in water with the correct ph level and flushing with it?

What if the problem resided in the soil in the first place and not the water being used.. when no nutes were ever introduced to the medium or soil of course and say you were using one od the brand named organic soils like fox farm ocean forest or happy frog.

you can check the soil ph with a ph reader. if you have FF than it should be the correct ph. it would be the water. but lock outs dont always happen from ph. an abundance or defficiency in one nutrient can lock out another one.

Yea dank smoker420 is right. if all you have is the eyedropper bottle and the vial for the ph kit, the best way to tell the SOIL pH is doing a slurry test, as testing the runoff isnt so accurate.

the first thing that i do, regardless of brand, is test the pH of everything. know your tap water´s pH (check it a few different days, at different times, and see if it varies, if it does, you have to test it every time you feed your plants.)
then test your soil dong the slurry test (mix about 1/4 cup soil into 3/4 cup water, stir or shake hard, wait an hour so the shit settles, then test the water), or just use a soil tester.
then i also test my nutrients, mix them with some water at the ratio instructed by each manufacturer, and test the pH of those (AND MARK THE BOTTLES WITH AN ARROW UP OR DOWN depending if its above or below 7.)

then when you know that your pH has been a little low lately, you add more of the nutrient with a higher pH

(this works great for me cuz i have like 5 different veg nutes, and another 3-4 bloom nutes, i use all of them, all the time, just different ratios)

or, try this for soil, thats what i do now, 6.5pH buffer for fish tanks... http://www.worldforpets.com.au/products/product_detail.asp?ID=4651 i stop using this 2+ weeks prior to harvest, and go back to checking shit by hand and adjust with only organic nutes.

(PS: at the petstore i also get some micro nute bottle, its 0-0-0 but has like 15 micro nutes, for fish tank plants, that stuff rocks. 6 bucks.)

your over thinking it ....soil is ph balanced and nute lines are ph balanced so even if your water is slightly off you will raaaaarely ever have a ph problem or a nute lockout problem through an entire grow..like maybe 1 in one hundred problems in soil id be illing to bet are ph related...simply feed as directed let your water sit out a couple days before using it and get good soil and you should be good

thanks guys foe all your inputs. The thing is I have an ro system just not hooked up yet. So since the beginning I've been using gallons of water. At first I was using distilled water from Walmart but they ran out so I switched to Poland springs and didn't think to check the ph since it was bottles water..boy was I wrong I checked it and it was at 7.6.

Now I have seedlings that are about two weeks old and there looking like crap. Yellowing leaves brown rust spots and the edges are turning down wards on some, the same problem isn't occurring in all of them its kind of mixed and matched.

And the worst part is I have a clone that was about 1.5 months old and i had a slight problem with what looked like a deficiency that came around when I transplanted it into happy frog soil which is the same time I started using the Poland spring water...and now I am where I am..

I know pictures would help but the only camera I have is my cell phone camera and that just not a good idea to me. So I'm wondering if by just flushing with reduglar phd water would this correct my problem in all the plants? Sorry ph has always been a tough spot for me and I thank you guys for all your help again!
