Soil PH questions

After reading through numerous threads here I'm still confused about finding the ph of my soil. For instance, if my water is 7.0 and the runoff is 5.0, does that mean the soil is 6.0? Or is it closer to 5.0?
Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to understand how to use the numbers to determine the soil PH. Do you go by what the runoff is or the difference between the ph of the water going in and the runoff coming out.
The numbers above were just an example.
I have a seedling that's about a week old. I watered last night with plain distilled water. The ph of the water was 6.8. The ph of the runoff was 5.6. So using these numbers how do I determine the ph of my soil? Do I go by the runoff, 5.6? Or is the median of the water and runoff, in this case 6.2, the ph of the soil?

if you are using a good quality soil mix i wouldn't worry about the ph. just water them with tap water when needed and go easy with the nutrients.
