Soil Problem

ok im using miracle grow moisture control soil and it sucks. i wish i had added more perlite to it before i planted my seeds but anyways im a week and a half in and my plants aren't looking all too bad but im pretty sure the roots could be doing a lot better. i've tried just mixing up the soil around the edges a little bit to see if i can get some oxygen to the roots but the thing about this soil is that when you water it, it compacts and gets hard and lumpy and it sucks. anyways i just wanted to see if anybody knew of something i could to do get more oxygen to the roots without transplanting my babies. also would using sparkling water do anything to help since i know that contains co2?

Just let them go is the easiest. You are way over anyalzing the situation. MG sux and has its problems, but it works and has worked for many many years. Next time dont use it but for now you could transplant it into something more friendly for your plant. Let the roots grow away from that MG crap.

quick update. took your advice and in a separate 3 gallon pot mixed up 50/50 perlite and miracle grow moisture control soil then CAREFULLY transplanted my baby into it. i definitely feel much better after transplanting it because i was looking at the soil it was in and i could tell it was compacted and hard. it seems like the roots were underdeveloped but i'll let you know if it made a difference that way if somebody else is having problems with their plants they'll know what to do.
