Soil question

What you were saying about the Peat Moss going hydrophobic on me makes perfect sense. How do I combat this? Increase the frequency in which im watering so the peat moss doesn't dry out as much?

I'm using a layer of straw to help maintain the moisture in the top soil, it seems to be working well.
Nice, mulch definitely helps. Yea I would just try to water a bit more frequently if possible.

Out of curiosity, did you water in the plant when you transplanted or did you wait a day or two?

I watered them the same day i transplanted. As soon as they were in the new container I gave it a thorough watering.
