soil runoff PH much lower than water PH?

I did this as a test due to the fact that i am starting my second grow and wanted to have a more accurate PH level when watering. The PH of my water is at about 7.8 (without using PH up or down) and i ran the water thru fresh MG Organic soil and the run-off was at 6.0 Any advice on what i should do? I would want my PH at 6.5 correct? Before this test i was lowering my water PH to 6.5 before watering, but now i feel as if i do that, that my run-off PH would be at 5.0 or lower? Please forgive my ignorance im just not sure if the run-off PH is important, any help is appreciated

Forget about your ph with MG soil.Just ph balance your nutes before you feed.Id also adjust that water down to 6.5.,Plants are not happy when the ph yoyos.peace

i too have expeirenced this but my question is , my grow has been going for awhile as i am on week 5 of flower after an 8 week veg . so are there any of the MG nutes left. my nute water is about 7.0ph and my runoff is 6.2ph? i am only trying to throw out some more info on this subject to better our knowledge , please dont feel like i am trying to jack this thread .

i appreciate the insight and no i dont feel like your highjacking the thread, the more the better. Im just not sure if i should be lowering my PH water (before I feed) to 6.5 like i did on my last grow. Or i should be leaving it at 7.8 (because the run off is 6.0)thanks again

The nutes that came in your soil should be gone,good soil is just a little more cash with very few headaches.Mlead keep adjusting your water and do the same with nutes and your shit will be fine..peace MTM

Testing runoff isn't an accurate way to test your soil's pH. Salts will naturally buildup in the soil. Your runoff will always be lower than what goes in. Just keep the pH of your water and feed solutions within range (6.3-6.8) and you shouldn't have any pH issues. Don't feed every watering either.

good to see fellow MG Organic growers, i'm pretty much a beginner inside, but have been using MG Organic for a few grows he acidity you see comes from MG Organic base, i.e. wood waste compost, it's strongly acidic the common advice on dealing with this is mix in dolomite, i've used 1 tbsp per gallon of soil so far, i've had one strain that loved this soil(nl#5) i'm currently struggling through another strain that doesn't seem to like this soil(jock horror) i'm bringing up the ph outflow with wood ash, and it does seem to do just that how well it works is a work in progress

MG organic doesn't have time release nutes in it does it? Doesn't it contain cow and chicken manure?

wood waste compost, peat moss, and poultry litter
it may contain composted cow manure, depends on what part of the country it was bagged
or so the label says

Yeah that's what I thought. I've never used it but I've heard if you add a little dolomite lime and perlite that it makes a pretty good soil mix. Thanx.

Maybe you could mix up your nutes pour it into a bag of soil then test your runoff.
