Soil Sucks

Not gonna read the other replies right now, just gonna through in a few words. 1st you are trolling(given I think it's funny) when you say soil sucks cause I've used ffof for all of me grows over the last 1 year and half with great results. And i tell you I ain't not expert, yet! I've put em through hell and my fox farm nutes/soil and also the techna floura synthetic ferts have served me very well. Good yields great quality. I got pics!

Still, one day I hope to be able to grow hydroponecly. And I suppose maybe one day I'll look at soil unfavorably. Hydro just doesn't feel natural. Although I don't guess the cannabis cares.

Coco works great for me as a blend between a soil-less medium and hydro setup. Much easier to deal with as far as potting than soil. pH control is easy to maintain, and I can feed everytime I water.

Didn't know that this grow (my first coco grow), but have eventually figured it out. Nice growth rates. Feed them GH nutes and use a wick system in a reservoir built under each pot.

I would love my hydro setup from years ago, but it was alot to manage.

I am a coco fan now.

as ive said earlier, stop comparing outdoor soil to indoor hydro

if a hydro system was outside it would easily outproduce the soil in the same period of time
Get off your hydro horse. Honestly, can a hydro system be used outdoors? Sure. But how often do you see outdoor hydroponics, really? Rarely. Why? becasue it's just impractical. You can use soil and grow gigantic trees under the natural sun with 90 percent less maintenance than you would need if you were trying to sustain a hydroponic setup from spring to fall. You ought to watch the above video of northern California once more... Do you see any reservoirs? NOW i'm not saying hydro doesn't have it's own advantages indoor because it definately does.... but come on buddy, get real.

I will say hydro has been around for a very long time but that's not the same kinda hydro you are referencing here you are using lab grade chemicals, that kinda hydro used minerals in the water from the earth(soil). Could that be why so many synthetic nute companies are now adding organic ingredients for hydroponic usage? Hydro and organics both have pros and cons neither one is perfect. IMO with hydro you are like a bodybuilder on steriods you are going to get results fast but your body stops producing things it needs......like testostrone, then the dependency: no juice/no 350 lb. lifts, the natural guy might take a little longer but he will have true results his body has built itself up to the point that he's stronger internally and can truly handle the 350 lb lift. I grow organic and when hydro people smoke my shit they lose their religion and convert!

Someone has a saying "it's on the inside that counts", right?

people forget why cannabis even moved indoors... it was to escape prohibition, not because it would yeild a better product than outdoors (not that this isn't true in some places with bad weather, but if you have good weather and a good season you really can't compare indoor bud to outdoor..)

I have seven gallon pots it is about 50% coco 50% PERLITE. i water 1 gallon of water by hand every other day in to each 7 gallon pot and i feecd every single time they get water and i have found that a ph from 5.7 - 6.2 is ideal. so pretty much hydro.
this has to be some of the most sensible writings you have posted on this website.

i think you may have even inspired me to try this out. i have wanted to for a while, but now i am motivated as well.

funny ass thread. :D
well for all the organic people- hope ya'll realize that plants can't uptake organic matter, that's first semester of college right there. :)

Indoor bud is way better than bud grown outdoors...
where I live in oct we got gusts of wind sometimes hitting 50mph, if you like your herb encrusted with dirt... outdoors is great.. :)

no one has said so.
you would be amazed at the knowledge some people have without going to college, as well as how douchy some ppl get after going to college.

anyways
there absolutely no way a man made system could outperform a natural system taking every factor into account, specially the energy efficiency and waste disposal.

They don't have to, in soil the matter is broken down by bacteria, fungus, and enzymes kinda like your stomach, this symbiotic relationship is millions of years old, this relationship is removed from hydro grown plants where you have to use chelating agents to bypass this whole process.

You could live off Ensure if you want to, I'm going eat fish and bread.
