IMO, this isn't the best tool for testing soilless substrates rich in organic matter.
It draws ions from the soil solution (water soluble) as well as the soil's CEC, and combines the two numbers into one value. You can't tell how much of what is coming from which phase of the soil chemistry. Says it right here, at ~ 23:00...
