Are u trying to figure out what to use as a medium? There are so many different mediums out there, what is ideal for one persons grow wont be for another. Like i grow in 80% perlite 20% coco, works for me but i autowater with drip irrigation and feed 12x a day. Someone who wants to mix a res once a week and feed once a week well my medium aint going to work for them lol.

Are you asking about a base soil to mix up a recipe like Sub Cools Super Soil.
I haven't used Fox Farm Ocean forest but I have used the Promix organic. It worked well as a base or starting medium. But needs amendments to feed your plant throughout its grow.
How are you growing? Organic soil in pots? Are you going to feed with salt based nutrients? Or just water and let the soil feed?

In my opinion that should be fine. The fox farm soil has some good nuts to start with and if your using fox farm nuts as well you should be good to go. Lots of people go that route. I would wait a few weeks before using any nuts and just let the soil feed your plants. Then when using nuts go half strength or less to start and ramp up as your plant gets bigger. I would also alternate between feed and water. That's just my opinion. I've read of other people going full nuts all the way through and then a two to three week flush. Some methods work for some people and not for others. It's all about the environment light (amount, spectrum), temp, humidity, airflow(wind), co2 levels, and most important tender loving care.
