Hey there,
Id like to talk about soils that are high in N. Say you use a soil that you discover doesnt need to be fertilized at all in veg. And then pre flower comes around and your plants are very happy with all the abundant nitrogen to fuel their/ stretch and ffill out to produce some tasty buds. Theplants go through their stretch and look great still aand are putting out some nice looking hairy buttons that turn into great looking little buds.
Now the real part of flowering starts and your plants now dont know what to do with all this extra nitrogen. In my opinion your plants are either going to turn dark green and show very obvious n toxicity, or they will start to pale rapidly (bud leaves may still be dark dark green) and your fan leaves will start to go limp and fall off.
The second of those two options (keep in mind these are just two scenarios I view as common in this situation and there are more things someone may see) is more likely to occur. It will look almost like an N defficiency but with very limp leaves and maybe some mild looking claw in the leaves (by mild I mean not angry looking haha more of a sad looking claw).
So for conversation sake as a grower what would you do for the plant?
And for people that have run into this problem what soil were you in (if pre packaged)? Or what was the mix you made (if you ammended it yourself)?
I feel like this could potentially be a useful thread to give new growers an idea of may be too hot in the N department. I in my cureent grow I have this going on (mainly because I tried to usemy tomato soil which is really high in N and ism made to in the garden and not in a pot.
