Just thought I would post them as more info is never a bad thing.
EDIT: So if you do decide to go solar the 60 watt panel at Canadian Tire: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/SolarPortablePower/SolarEnergy/PRDOVR~0112060P/Blue+Planet+60W+Solar+Power+Kit,+3-Panel.jsp?locale=en would provide ample power for just a water pump. It even comes with a charge controller.

Thanks! My date isnt until next spring, but I will keep it updated and try and take pictures too. Gravity is my friend in this one. Im sort of glad Ive decided on no solar panels even though that video makes it incredibly tempting.
