Solar panels

I don't get it. He calls himself 'almost' an engineer, yet he doesn't understand that the sun doesn't shine all the time.

I guess that's why farmers and tinkerers with a lil common sense make better engineers!
No but when the Sun goes down the moon comes out so everything will work out just fine right?

Now how does your longitude and latitude in elevation affect the efficiency of your power? Obviously it would be great to live at the top of a mountain on the southface I think.

I know I started out mentioning stealth book the batteries seem like too many complications. It seems better to keep it simple and stupid and just Thai into the grid to offset the cost.

i think this was stated before but many states in USA require grid ties to be professionally installed by a liscense electrician. I imagine you can use a friend to install this if he/she is an EE but I'd recommend verifying this.

there's not really anything to worry about with having a crew come by and install the solar array. you don't have to justify it to them, they just want the business. just plan ahead and run a scrubber off a battery to clean up the smell of your current grow when they come in and install everything. they'll have to cut the power for a brief amount of time. get a car or lawn battery and an inverter that can handle 100w or so.. just has to be more than the power consumption of your scrubber. volts times amps equals watts.

I was honestly just trying to ease my electric bill up a little. If i had a choice id put in a 50kw turbine lol...

I just wanted to install 10kw on roof and tie it directly in. Ill run my stuff in day or night, idk. In the summer my bills are big. Not so bad in the winter, but i always add more lights :-)

Wouldnt it just go from the panels to the inverter and into the breaker box? Sounds simple enough...

yea but you'll get a letter or phone call and maybe, but doubtful, a knock on the door. you're not allowed to do that in many states. what you can do is add a breaker box and have your solar seperately installed with a voltage controlled relay.

when your battery is drained, it will flip over to AC mains. you'd have to design the circuit.

if you cannot figure it out, let me know and ill draw you one.
