Soler & Palau TD-150s - Weird Rolling Sound (Normal?)

Hey Folks,
I just received my S&P TD-150s today (boy does it look nice) and when I took it out of the box, there was this weird rolling sound inside.

Anyone with experience with the S&P Silent series know if there is something supposed to be moving around inside the fan when I move it around? I haven't wired it up yet, just took it out the box and it sounds like a golf ball is in there. I'm not to keen on opening it up just yet when I just brought it home. It's not your usual centrigufal fan, which is why I'm posting up this question.
Thanks,
Judo

Haha I figured out it was a wiring component, it's normal and you'll encounter it in the process of wiring the fan if you end up getting one. :dunce:

Lesson : Rolling Golf ball noise in brand new TD Silent fans is normal so go open the sucker up and start wiring it up!

I use that exact same fan for my main exhaust fan. I love the design of it! It is relatively quiet and you have the option to wire it up at high or low speed. The only thing I don't like about it is that it would make a loud humming/buzzing noise when I hooked it up to my fan speed controller. I assume this style fan need a different type of speed controller. So I just ended up changing it from high to low speed and let it go at that.

Thanks scooby, I'll be wiring it on low next weekend. I got it for a veg cab but looking at it's specs I realize I am going to stick it in the closet.

Are you running a filter on it, if so, what are you running bud if you don't mind me asking.

Yeah, I do run a filter as it is the exhaust for my whole room (mother/clone/veg/flower). I forget the brand of filter, but it measures 18"L x 9"W not including the flange. It was a perfect match cfm-wise with the fan and my room size/airflow. Hope the fan works out well for you. If you end up attaching a filter, be sure to connect it to the fan with a short run of ducting to prevent any vibration from transferring to the filter. I also have my fan hanging loosely from nylon strapping as to prevent vibration noise. No sense buying a quiet fan if it is mounted to a solid surface!! :peace:
