RIU and its members are so far from the sun right now,
its time to get this years seeds and gear organized
Hopefully the seeds will be arriving thru the Christmas onrush
avoiding the Chicago area and Attitude naturally then to the


New Years sales for the 1x bag of 'hot' mix for 3 bags of Perlite
maybe this year some ph quality water for germing also black or any color
kitchen towels, so you can actually see that emerging rootlet

For those still using Solo cups, ditch that and get the proper 4 inch(650ml) pots
with larger drain holes, much easier to potup with, use seedling mix this time!
Now that those aero pots have come down in price time to upgrade you main pots
with these "Air Pots" 3=5 us gallon (15-18liter)

LEDS are still making big inroads to members spaces,
mostly with new-ish growers, those 3-5 grows in, struggling with those final tweeks
as in many cases, the member has just paid serious money for a led rack
only to find that once again the light model has been upgraded costing even more? ..lol

Legalization is increasing world wide, thanks to efforts in the USA,
also too is the use of many underage growers, many signing up here
again very few grow room fires, a credit to this site, and others for the advice found online

I hate winter so bad I take Solstice to be a good thing. Tomorrow, I will pretend I notice the days getting longer :) Yes, spring is around the corner.

The five gallon buckets I modified into my RDWC grow sites were all free.

I reuse all my hydroton run after run after run. Just rinse and reuse, no harsh sterilization necessary or desired. I buy a fresh bag once every six months or less.

I only use enough hydroton to stabilize the plant in an 8" netpot bucket lid, the kind that fits over the top of a five gallon bucket. These cost $3.85 apiece.

Many of those free five gallon buckets got cut up, the spacer section at the top reused in the lids of 27 gallon tuffboxes, which cost $12.95 each.

Not bad for a pound a plant per tubsite every run.
