Some advice on a lemon haze with trichomes that just seem to stay clear.

Hi all,

first off thanks for all the resources, i came here 4 month ago on a google search for Soilless tomatoes. I did not have weed on the docket of things i was going to grow, but your passion and advice to others made me want to try the challenge !

I wonder if i can lean on your experience, should i give her some love for another couple of weeks or get harvesting?

ive had tons of trouble with this one, and im using her as a "learn as you go". The trouble might be due to the fact I broke its neck a little early and me choosing DWC, Auto Flower, and I've never done either before (facepalm).

notes:
Yes i know she has lots of everything on the leaves, one constant lock out or deficiency after another (im good at flushing now at least)
Autoflower lemon haze.
DWC (im moving them around in the pictures normally got light and heat insulation over the bucket)
5 gallons
enough air stones.
ph average of 6.4 rising slighty
PPM: 600-800
Week 12 ish (since seed)
about 8-9 weeks of flower (package says 65 day of flower)
pistils been dark for a week or so.
trichomes under the loop its all super clear (90X)

here it is and i appreciate any advice on if she is ready.

They look good, but never believe the breeder estimates for flowering, at best they’re optimistic, at worst they’re guesses! They’ve got some time to go, but without close-up of the trichs, I can only say that some of them look to be cloudy (3rd pic). But they could all swell more.

I'm not big on autoflowers, and if it's truly lemon haze, it's a sativa dominant strain. For photoperiod, that means it could be 12 - 16 weeks. I'm not sure for autoflowers though, but I can't imagine it's too different.

after way too much time trying to take a picture through a loop, I’m done on that for tonight.

I’ll take a look at that branch fresh in the morning.

I’ll keep her going, part of me just wants her done. my little drama queen has got me for a few more weeks.

Is it actually lemon haze… could be really sticky oregano for all I know! I’ll panic again in a month and keep checking her.

Thanks so much.

Oregano takes way longer to grow lol.

going to apologize now for not replying to posts as I should. I’m feeling old and the mobile gui is making me feel older.

ha! It’s true my actual oregano was seeded on the same day, it’s so small and cute still.

I was actually going to try cutting the top one this weekend and buckling down to deal with the root rot. My jack herer is doing so much better on the same nutes, so excited for my debrief and try to figure out what I did different.

thanks again for the input this is a lot of fun!

Looks to me like you have a Manganese problem, I would check your ph make sure its within range. this plant has a very long time left.

Thanks manganese was not on the radar. I do daily ph ec checks and the variation isn’t bad. Seeing a ph drop and ec is slowly dropping. 5.8-6.6 ppm is dropping about 50 parts in 24 hours ph .2 ish sometimes more. I know there is algae of some types and I’m doing a full sanitize ( finding hydroguard in can has been hard) today got the Ro flush airating now.

if you see something or need more info please let me know

hello all,

i wanted to come back and give an update on this plant and my first grow. 2nd i wanted to take a second to thank you all for the help.

1. This plant was a complete failure, got about 50 g from it and it was crap (even after the final swell), but i think i learned a lot from it.
2, my jack herer came through like a champ and i got just under 600g out of it, a great upper high super happy with it. Still made some mistakes and i have nutrient burn/ light burn on some of the denser buds from the top of the plant but doesn't seem to affect taste or high.

sometimes you just need a little direction.

next round will be the grapefruit haze (apparently i miss read the package not lemon haze facepalm) again (still have seeds for that) with my newly complete RDWC/waterfall/undercurrent (2 totes with pipes in and out). Excited and not at all discouraged thanks again and ill update in grow diaries when i start that!

Do you have any pics of the 600g plant? Dang thats most of my last harvest with 5 clones. Just curious, I dont see pound plants often. Youre talking dry weight right? Nice job!

Nice job!! About how tall is the space and how wide is the plant? What lights are you using and watts? I like to keep track and itll help others interested in the strain. Speaking of wich, is it auto or photo? What breeder?

Thats awesome it totally looks believable too I didnt mean that in a bad way. I just figured it would be a awesome sight and it is! Wow yea my flowers are tiny Im after the resin for rosins.

My strain said I think 500-650Gs per square meter which is considered some what medium high yielding. I wonder what this one would be rated lol.. XL for sure!

lol not at all i wouldnt have thought 600 is possible with 1 seed. That is until i hit 450 and was like i still have 2 more shelves to process (out of 5).

Ill fill in with links later tonight !

1. Jack Herer Auto from https://quebeccannabisseeds.com/ it was actually a freebie that came with another purchase. (yay)
2. space/tent 48X48X80 , by the end it took up 2/3rds of the space and i had to move things out to my 3X3 or outside (i do mostly hydro veggies)
3. how wide: hard to answer i started with scrog but with 12 tomato plants in there it got overwhelming and i did a mid grow clean up in the tent. so with the scrog using about 4sqft but by the end without the scrog and some really heavy buds and me being lazy it took up close to 10-12sqft. it was almost 6 foot tall shorter than me but taller than my wife. i ran out of space and couldn't raise the light anymore and ended up burning some of the top buds.
4.Lights 2 vs 1000 100watt each and 1 200 watt Aerolight from Vivosun.
5. depending on who you talk to indoor yield per 1msq was 350-450 (that is for sure not 600 i got).

ill get you a stat sheet on everything i did, i had originally indented to created how to guides, i still have my notes.

Wow thats impressive for an auto! Is this soil or hydro? Drain to waste coco or dwc? So thats kind of like a little bigger than a 2x4 foot space. Pretty cool!

Be careful with humidity/airflow with those donkey D’s people call them. Wow so like 400w just about. I use 300 for 12.5 square foot.

ok ill get an actual post done in grow diaries but wanted to get you the info now (so lazy). im assuming you are talking about the aerolight, ive not been very happy with the humidity at plant level since i turned it on, i am very happy with everything else about it but that fan pushing hot air back down... 20/20 hindsight i just didnt think to think of that.

48X48X80 with 6 inch carbon filter and exhaust 450 cfm fan that i ran at about 30% low humidity was set to 52 and high was set to 73 (honestly since i got the aerolight i hovered at 63 most of the time and the fan worked harder).
lights: 400 w sometimes 300 depending on what's going on in the other grow areas 18 hours of daylight
5 gallon DWC this one was tap water started, 6 inch basket with a mix of clay balls (ha balls) and coco as a light blocker (wont do that coco again lots of silt in the water).
4 inch air stone with a strong enough pump
3 part Advanced nutrients but ran out and finished with future harvest found them on liquidation for $10 cdn each and honestly don't think ill go back. no supplements beyond Cal mag and the occasional silica.

in planning for my next grow i thought a 3X3 would be perfect from my experience with last one. i just finished a test set up of it. ill get the scrogs out and will do the wires this week, also still doing the leak check with the piping.

This is what i felt would make the best set up for my needs:
3X3 (its actually a 4X3 with 1X3 of shelves but hey its what i have).
400W farmlite this is new and on sale 130cdn for it worst case i can switch back to a Vs 1000 but that only really has 2X2 flour coverage.
45L grow tote
45L reservoir
I had some pipes lying around the house or id probably not have done CPVC or 3 inch ABS.
3 inch out pipe
.5 inch in pipe

thanks for the question i actually felt that I hadn't wasted my time taking notes the first 3 months.

Nice ! Yea Im about to do my first 3x3 plant grow, its probably going to be very different than what Im used to.

I do drain to waste coco its just been good to me. I use mars hydro lights best buds I ever grew were with them aside from genetics.

Thats awesome! Keep up the good work! Ive been growing like 2 years this last year the most active, how about you? It helps to know and just nice to know where someones at in this awesome journey.

Happy to chat one of the best parts of this process has been all the people I’ve met along the way.
Here is the story would love to hear yours!

This is my first attempt at weed and I am only slightly more experienced with soilless veggies. Oct 2023 for hydro/coco, Jan 17 2024 for the weed.

been growing outdoors for a long time, lucked out and had a rock garden, coi pond etc at my place during uni, that we had to take care of. fell in love with the meticulous but balanced approach that garden required. I liked that you can guide a plant to where you want with attention to details and patience. impatience is the gardeners worst enemy, but procrastinating could be just as bad. I live in a big city and have long winters.got good at balcony herbs and small tomatoes but kids etc it fell off the hobby list.

My kids eat tomatoes like berries and berries like chips. so I wanted to have them grow their own and I Wanted to learn more about hydro. Hopefully save some money with LED costing less power than my pc at the wall it seemed the main hurdle to growing indoors was finally solved
I did a lot of research for this and found it hard to get good info for tomatoes, but lots of really good info on their genetic cousins. After 3 months of both forums and research papers, I realized I knew more about weed than tomatoes and here we are. I am really looking forward to grow 2 and I often find my kids in the veggie tent snacking on tomatoes so bonus for all.

this being so new bought VIVOSUN they seemed a good entry level choice been very happy with them in a few years I’ll know more about what I need.

coco is what I should have done and still plan to do. But my journey down this rabbit hole started with a curiosity of hydro and until I’ve learned it all… Somewhere in there I want to learn about topical and oils (sooo much shake and keif ).

What got you started ? What is new about 3x3 for you?

Awesome that sounds nice! I actually never really grew until I grew weed so no real background with that.

I just would read or watch a thing or two on weed growing long before legal and when legal I dove in. I learned what I could while physically getting started.

Its just something that I didnt like to do if I couldnt grow myself. I quit for a tiny moment after a failure but I realized my mistakes and tried again.

I got better and better and got hooked and everything came together and kept buying more equipment.

Ismoked weed ten yrs and dabbed for the last two years which turned into full time dabbing. So I have a higher demand to meet with challenges but Im just now beating them.

I bought a press and made rosin a hand full of times and quickly decided I wanted to dab that full time of my own home made.

I just made topicals and they work which I didnt think Id ever benefit from, sounded like a boring project more for healing friends family with arthritis etc.

I actually was able to relief muscle soreness with it and was so effective Im excited to use it any time I have an excuse to.

Yea I can go on and on but thats pretty much it. Im a weed dork in real life, Im the most edjucated in my circle but here there are weed gods compared to me lmao.

So this is indeed an awesome place for all of us to meet and grow.
