Some advice on a little grow (with pictures)

Hey, so I was gathering up some indoor grow supplies over the past couple of months until I get my own place, but I decided to start a little early by germinating a bagseed and tossing it in some organic potting soil. I piled up some boxes so the pot was directly over a 100w fluorescent bulb, and I taped up a mylar emergency blanket around it to reflect light. I water generously twice a day, and its grown rather quick in the 3 days since I first planted it.

I'm pretty much looking for some feedback...how large do you think it will grow under such a weak light? When is the best time to start feeding it? Any comments or advice would be great. Thanks guys.

You need more light within the correct spectrum. That plant is stretching. Watering twice a day is way too much water. Its going to kill it.

alright cool. So the 100w wont suffice at all? I just need to keep it alive and well until the grow season starts in southern ontario, canada...theres been tons of rain over the past couple of days, so I'm skeptical as to whether planting outside now is a good idea.

Fill in around the plant with more soil. go right up about a 1/2 '' from the bottom leaves .. keep it about 4'' away from your light .. YOU"LL NEED MORE LIGHT. .. But good luck

alright, i had some 50w sodium halogen bulbs from a while back. Would those be a better alternative to this weak cfl?

I'd say 2" some even say 1" but then you're going to have to move your plant constantly to avoid burning it. 4" would work, but you're going to have more stretching and you won't be utilizing all the light output.

What light cycle do you have it on?

But Korvette was dead on, fill in that soil a bit almost to the first node.

Keep the waterings down to when it starts to dry out, not systematically.

Look on the DIY boards for a CFL reflector made from a pop can to reflect the light.

Throw a fan in there somewhere blowing on the plant so it can imitate the wind from outside. It will start to beef up the main stem of the plant.

Good luck. Happy growing.
